Zombie Infantry is an enemy in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. A group of three is fought in the Kaipo Inn, when Ceodore and the Hooded Man take a rest there. This parallels the event in Final Fantasy IV where Baron Soldiers and a General ambush Cecil and Rydia. They seem to be normal Baron soldiers, but they are actually monsters.

Battle[edit | edit source]

The enemy may be tough for those who have not trained a lot, but the Zombie Infantry can be beaten. This is a good time to use a Bomb Crank. If you can, sell some stuff at the Kaipo store, like the Falchion and Blood Sword (the Blood Sword's Drain attack backfires against the Zombie Infantry) and buy good armor like the Bone Wrist. Above all, see if you can get the Flame Sword. The Flame Sword is the single most useful thing that you can have to prepare for this battle - the Zombie Infantry are weak against Fire, and an attack by the Hooded Man with the Flame Sword will do 700 damage. Couple that with the damage done with a Bomb Crank and this fight should not be hard (You might want to set the ATB mode to Wait just in case).

Etymology[edit | edit source]

A zombie is an animated corpse resurrected by mystical means, such as witchcraft. Since the late 19th century, zombies have acquired popularity in North American and European folklore.
