A professional flirt and member of the Tantalus Theater Troupe, a band of thieves posing as performers. At the heart of his journey to stop Kuja, he learns the truth of his existence and nearly falls into the depths of despair but overcomes the darkness with the help of his friends. Description
Zidane is a playable character representing Final Fantasy IX in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia who can be recruited during Chapter 2 of the main storyline.
Characteristics[]
Appearance[]
Zidane wears a teal vest over a white sleeveless shirt and white jabot with blue cargo pants and layered belts. He has gray gloves with large blue cuffs and two-toned gray and white boots. He has a distinctive prehensile, monkey tail.
His first alternate costume, Pluto Uniform, is based on the uniform of the Knights of Pluto. He wears a single piece chestplate with pale gray and green shorts and brown boots. He bears a sword sheath strapped over his torso, and a small round shield on his left arm.
His second alternate costume is based on a cloak worn in the best available ending of Final Fantasy IX: a dark brown cloak with patterns in gold leaf over his outfit. His right eye is painted with stage makeup.
Personality[]
Story[]
Chapter 2: The Ruins of Deserta[]
Zidane confronts Kuja about the torsions, and is shocked to see Vivi.
Lost Chapter: Balamb Whiplash[]
Zidane encounters a disoriented Quistis shortly after she arrives in the World of Light as he scouts a lava field near the Capta Est Tower on sortie with Laguna, Cecil, and Y’shtola. When it becomes clear that Quistis recognizes Laguna, they prompt him for an introduction, but Laguna – who was taken into the World of Light from a time before his meeting with Quistis in Esthar – does not remember meeting her. Nevertheless, the group deems Quistis as an ally as a behemoth arrives to challenge them in battle. Quistis then decides to join the warriors in their journey shortly thereafter.
Lost Chapter: Inheriting the Past[]
When Aerith joins the warriors of light, she leads them to close a torsion near the location where they first met her. She becomes separated from the group while wandering through a nearby forest and runs into Kuja, who wants to learn more about her motivations. Kefka ambushes the two, but Zidane and the other warriors arrive to her defense and he is forced to retreat.
Zidane demands to know why Kuja did not fight alongside Kefka. Aerith explains that he had defended her, but Kuja departs without explaining his intentions. With the battle over, the warriors admonish Aerith for going off on her own. Zidane notices that she was too far away from the main group to have simply gotten lost as she claims, and asks her to have a little more faith in them, and in the notion that they might be able to help her work through her struggles.

- Zidane is joined by Sherlotta for his Force Mode, as well as being Locke's partner:
- For Sherlotta, both have mysterious backgrounds and are easily distinguished by their tails, but being otherwise human.
- For Locke, both are thieves who have disguised themselves in the beginnings of their games and rescued the female leads (Garnet for Zidane, Terra and Celes for Locke).
