Honoring the law more than any other, a scion of holy order and condemner of criminals. Created in opposition to Knight-Star Pashtarot, scion of light. He turns his deep, abiding hatred for those who break the law into living darkness, therein to plunge the guilty in fell judgment. Over time, he came to care less for upholding the law and more for condemnation, and so tainted by hate, he sought to condemn the gods themselves to death. Thus, did he earn the title "The Condemner," and thus did he fall from grace.
Zeromus the Condemner is an optional level two Esper in Final Fantasy XII. He is located in the Stilshrine of Miriam, in a hidden chamber accessed by using the Stone of the Condemner at a way stone.
Zeromus's license costs 50 LP, and he requires two Mist Charges to summon.
Profile
Edit
The Esper of Gravity, Zeromus represents the zodiac sign of Cancer, the Crab, which is the reason Zeromus has a giant claw. From his power of gravity, his color sign is indigo. He is also referred to as the Karka Ascendant, which is the Sanskrit name of its zodiac sign as used in Jyotish (Hindu) astrology.
Zeromus is the second largest Esper after a winged Zodiark, as his length is measured by his long tail. Zeromus is based on the main antagonist of Final Fantasy IV, and unlike most Espers in Final Fantasy XII, doesn't return in Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.
Obtained
Edit
Zeromus is located in a hidden chamber in the Stilshrine of Miriam that can be accessed by using the Stone of the Condemner to a way stone, which is received by speaking to an acolyte at the bottom of the temple in Mt Bur-Omisace, after Judge Bergan has been defeated. After he is fought as a boss, the Zeromus license can be purchased for 50 LP.
Unlocked abilities in Zodiac versions
Edit
Esper licenses sometimes unlock licenses that could not otherwise be reached. Zeromus's license will appear on all boards, but once chosen by a character, will disappear from all other boards. In The Zodiac Age version, the player can choose two license boards for each playable character, and activated licenses are activated on both boards if present.
Zeromus allows access to the following licenses on these boards:
- Black Mage: Heavy Armor 9 (Giant's Helmet, Carabineer Mail)
- Foebreaker*Exodus: also achieved with Magick Lore x4
- Machinist: Hand-bombs 4 (Makara)
- Monk: Sight Unseeing
- Red Battlemage: Channeling
- Bushi: Magick Lore x2
- Time Battlemage: Addle, Shear
- White Mage: +270 HP
Battle
Edit
Zeromus requires two Mist Charges to summon.
Abilities
Edit
- Gravity Well
A fractional damage attack. Damage is calculated by:
- $ (Zeromus's Max HP - Zeromus's current HP) x 2 $
Gravity Well has no damage cap. It is possible to deal up to 25,970 damage when he has a single HP, at level 99 and has Bubble status. The ability has a slightly long delay in Action Time.
Its power is improved in the Zodiac releases.
Final Fantasy XII - Zeromus, the Condemner (♋ Cancer) 断罪の暴君ゼロムス Big Bang ビッグバーン
A fractional damage attack, and Zeromus's ultimate attack. In a cosmic vortex, Zeromus flies erratically, stops, opening his shell, and charges a gravity spell on his stinger. Opening his claw, he siphons the energy into his palm, and launches it beyond the chunk of rock the enemy is suspended upon. It detonates at the horizon, sweeping outward and damaging all foes in range with crushing gravity. Damage is calculated by:
- $ (Zeromus's Max HP - Zeromus's current HP) x 5 $
It has no damage limit, and its damage range can be increased by Bubble. His HP caps at 6,493 (at level 99), so the theoretical maximum damage output (after Bubble) from Zeromus is 64,923 if at one HP, potentially making it the strongest attack in Final Fantasy XII. By using the Infuse Technick on Zeromus (reducing the summoner's MP to zero), walking to restore one MP, and using Infuse on Zeromus again, Zeromus's HP can be quickly and easily reduced to exactly 10, allowing the summoner to bring to bear nearly the full extent of Zeromus's power as long as he is not damaged before he can use it. If the player doesn't mind using up items, Zeromus's health can be brought to 1 by using an Elixir on him with a Nihopalaoa equipped.
Its power is improved in the Zodiac releases.

Edit
Zeromus is an optional boss fought in the Stilshrine of Miriam. Zeromus is also fought in the Zodiac versions' Trial Mode at Stage 81 along with Dark Lords. The Magicks command is sealed and Zeromus is flanked by Dark Lords. Zeromus casts Piercing Graviga, and uses a number of time spells: Slow and Stop on the party, and Hastega on himself and the Dark Lords. Zeromus has high HP and uses Great Barrier when he drops to 50% health to buff himself.

Etymology
Edit
Zeromus is a reference to the final boss of Final Fantasy IV. Zeromus is an extended version of Zemus, which is Amharic for "Prayer". Perhaps because of the added 'Zero', it means "No Prayer".
He is also referred to as the Karka Ascendant, the Sanskrit name of its zodiac sign as used in Jyotish (Hindu) astrology.
