Zeromus's Malice

Zeromus's Malice is a boss in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. It is the reborn spirit of Zeromus, released when the Mysterious Girl shatters the Crystals of the Moon.

Stats[]

Battle[]

Zeromus's Malice uses Bio, Black Hole, and Flare, in addition to a few other strong spells. He will use Big Bang as a final attack.

Before the start of the fight, Golbez and Fusoya will learn the Double Black Magic Band.

Strategy[]

Golbez and Fusoya should use the Double Black Magic Band often on Zeromus's Malice, with Fusoya stopping occasionally to heal. Casting spells such as Haste and Protect is not needed, because Double Black Magic should defeat Zeromus's Malice after a few hits.

Because Zeromus's Malice attacks entirely with magic, one can simply cast Reflect on both Golbez and Fusoya, restoring the status every time Black Hole is used. As long as a character has Reflect up, they cannot be damaged by any of Zeromus's attacks, save for the Big Bang which triggers the cutscene.

Etymology[]

Zeromus is an extended version of Zemus, which is Amharic for "Prayer". Perhaps because of the added 'Zero', it means "No Prayer".
