In-Game Description
Zalera is the Rank III Holy Ranged Esper in Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. Its basic attack, Holy, deals heavy damage to a single enemy, and its special attack, Holyja, deals very heavy damage to a small group of enemies.
Despite its element being Holy, it is listed among the non-elemental Espers in the game rather than among the healing Espers.
Statistics
Zalera,having tremendous magickal attribute, has the lowest Attack Speed and time between attacks of 4 seconds till 3.5 seconds (simplified calculation). Although for that fact, Zalera has the highest Speed, along with Shiva and Ultima, for the shortest time between gambit ability and basic attacks for all Ranged Espers. Zalera's basic attack, Holy , is magickal and is only significant for its Magick stat. Holy deals damage to one foe, with its hit style being seamlessly without range as long as the target has been within Zalera's sight range. Holy deals damage to any single unit whom is the closest to the smiting light. Zalera's Holyja deals heavy damage to all foes in range. Its time between the next action is seamless, allowing Zalera to always cast Holy immediately after Holyja. Holyja has a recharge time of 25 seconds (rounded off) and becomes 19 seconds when Zalera has been Hasted.
Strengths
Zalera, being a powerful magickal damage dealing Esper, is highly favorable to be use against Rank III Flying Espers such as Ramuh and even Bahamut. Zalera's Holy may rarely hit Flying enemy Leaders (Aegyls), but it always deals tremendous damage to any Flying enemies.
Weaknesses
Zalera's Holy, is highly inaccurate ability which usually misses any single targeted Melee units. Leaving him easily eradicated by Melee attackers.
Trivia
Despite being Undead type beings, Zalera is not weak to Holy or Healing, unlike the Zombies and Vampyrs, they are weak to Holy, which means that they can actually be damaged by healing abilities even from allies.
