Yowie is a fiend in Final Fantasy X found in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth. It has high Magic Defense and Evasion, Tidus's or Wakka's physical attacks work the best. Yowie's attacks can inflict Petrification or Silence.
In the original version, Yowies drop weapons with Strength +3% and Magic +3% instead of Distill Speed.

The Yowie is a mythological character in Australian Aboriginal folklore. It is a creature that is a mixture of a human and an ape with red eyes and large canine teeth.
Due to the lizard-like appearance of Final Fantasy X's Yowie, it may be based on the Whowie, a different creature from Australian Aboriginal folklore that has the form of a large lizard.
