Yoko Shimomura.

Yoko Shimomura (下村 陽子, Shimomura Yōko?) is a Japanese video game music composer. Before making her debut as Final Fantasy series music composer, she is best known for her compositions for the Parasite Eve and Kingdom Hearts series.

Biography[]

Shimomura joined Square in 1993 as a composer after graduating from Osaka Music School and working for Capcom. While working for Capcom, she composed the majority of the score to the legendary fighting game Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. After joining Square, she composed the score for Live A Live in 1994. She is also known for her score in Front Mission, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Kingdom Hearts series, Parasite Eve, and Legend of Mana.

Shimomura makes her debut as a Final Fantasy series music composer with Hataraku Chocobo, although her first important contribution to the series is for Final Fantasy XV. Her piece for this game, "Somnus", was included in the Square Enix compilation album Drammatica. Another piece called "Omnis Lacrima" was released in another compilation album Memória!.
