Hornless! Hornless!

Yenke Ronso

Yenke Ronso is a boss in Final Fantasy X. He fights alongside Biran Ronso against Kimahri. His stats depend on Kimahri's. He uses various abilities that are available to Kimahri as Ronso Rages.

The battle theme is "Servants of the Mountain", the theme of Mt. Gagazet, rather than any of the usual battle themes.

Stats[]

Biran and Yenke's stats[]

Biran and Yenke's HP, Strength, Magic and Agility stats depend on Kimahri's stats.

HP
Kimahri's STR x STR x STR = Value 1
Kimahri's MAG x MAG x MAG = Value 2
(Value 1 + Value 2) / 2 x 16 / 15 = Value 3
(Value 3 / 32 + 30) x 586 / 730 = HP Value
STR/MAG
(Kimahri's HP - 644) / 200 = STR/MAG Value

Yenke's HP is then determined as HP Value x 6.

Yenke's Magic is determined by (0 = 8, 1 = 8, 2 = 9, 3 = 10, 4 = 12, 5 = 14, 6 = 16, 7 = 17, 8 = 19, 9 = 20, 10 = 21, 11+ = 22).

His Strength is half of Biran's and his Agility is Kimahri's Agility -8.

Battle[]

FFX-HD-Fire-Breath-EA

Fire Breath.

Yenke automatically blocks attacks on Biran with Guard when they are together, which temporarily increases his Defense to 254, and casts White Wind once when below 25% HP, healing himself and Biran. Otherwise, he uses Fire Breath, Aqua Breath, and Bulldoze, in that order. Biran and Yenke are always in Guard status, which means attacks are weakened as one helps the other. Bulldoze switches Yenke's row position from front to back and vice-versa. If one has used it but not the other, the Guard status means nothing and Kimahri's attacks will do full damage. White Wind will also not heal Biran when separated.

During this battle, Kimahri can learn up to eight Ronso Rage techniques, including Fire Breath, Stone Breath, and Aqua Breath from Yenke, as well as White Wind after he uses it. Defeating Yenke first causes Biran to cast Berserk on himself, preventing Kimahri from learning Mighty Guard from Biran if he has not used it yet. Defeating Biran first will cause Yenke to use Haste on himself.

Strategy[]

Physical attacks are more effective when Biran and Yenke are separated. Lancet or Hi-Potions can be used to heal. The player should use Aqua Breath when Biran and Yenke are together and Fire Breath when they are separate. It is suggested not to attack just one of them, and allow both of them to use their rages before defeating either if the player still needs to learn them.

If Kimahri learned Steal (ability from Rikku's path), he can steal useful Lv. 3 Key Spheres from Biran and Yenke, at least five of each. If an armor is customized with the Master Thief ability (using the Pendulums obtained in Remiem Temple), each successful steal will give two Lv. 3 Key Spheres.
