Why not talk, Kimahri? Not see Yenke for ten years! Say something! Kimahri forget Yenke? Forget Biran?
Yenke Ronso
Yenke Ronso is a non-player character in Final Fantasy X. He is a Ronso warrior of Mt. Gagazet, and the partner and friend of the great Ronso hero Biran Ronso. Yenke is on antagonistic terms with Kimahri Ronso due to viewing him a disgrace, and Yenke and Biran never miss a chance to berate him when they cross paths. Yenke is fought as a boss alongside Biran.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Yenke is a tall muscular light-skinned Ronso with brownish hair. He wears the typical Ronso tribe attire of leather armor covering his forearms and chest, as well as a loin cloth. The horn he has on his forehead—the pride of a Ronso—is dark in contrast to Biran and Kimahri's.
Personality[]
Like Biran, Yenke is a proud warrior who respects the strong and those who he believes deserve respect. Biran's victory over Kimahri caused a conflict between them, due to Kimahri not wanting to accept defeat. After Biran broke Kimahri's horn, he has been hostile to Kimahri, calling him "hornless." When Kimahri finally defeats Yenke and Biran, they honorably accept defeat and begin respecting Kimahri again.
Story[]
Final Fantasy X[]
Yenke and Biran meet Kimahri in Luca where they taunt and fight him, but with no real outcome, because Kimahri is interrupted when he learns of Yuna's kidnapping. When fiends attack the blitzball finals, Yenke and Biran are among the heroes fighting them off. Later on, the duo meet Kimahri and company along the Moonflow after bullying Wantz, and warn Kimahri about summoners disappearing.
At Mt. Gagazet, after Maester Kelk Ronso allows Yuna's party to pass, Yenke and Biran let them except for Kimahri due to viewing him a disgraced Ronso. If Kimahri were to be allowed to climb the mountain, he must prove his strength. Yenke and Biran are defeated and recognize Kimahri as a great Ronso. They and the other Ronso vow to protect Yuna and her guardians as they climb Mt. Gagazet. Unfortunately, nearly all the Ronso, including Yenke and Biran, are killed by Seymour Guado, as though they were nothing but a bump in his path.
Final Fantasy X-2[]
If Yuna says something favorable to a Ronso at one point, he remarks "Biran and Yenke rejoice on Farplane". This is the only mention of Yenke in the game.
Gameplay[]
Biran is fought on Mount Gagazet alongside Yenke. Kimahri fights them alone. Biran's and Yenke's stats depend on Kimahri's, so the player will be able to win no matter how much they have trained Kimahri up to this point. This battle is also a chance for Kimahri to learn some Ronso Rages the player may have missed from earlier.
