The Yellow Dragon is an enemy in Final Fantasy V. A lightning-elemental dragon, it can use Lightning to deal lightning damage to all party members. As with the Red Dragon, Yellow Dragon is a possible monster-in-a-box in the Barrier Tower (guarding the Blood Sword and the Gold Hairpin), but is encountered as a regular enemy starting on the sixth floor of Castle Exdeath. Initially showing up only on its own, it later appears in pairs. Additionally, it can appear in the final dungeon in the right tower that leads to the second floor of the castle.
Coral Rings are sometimes dropped by Yellow Dragons upon defeat. They are susceptible to Level 2 Old.

Etymology[]
A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, which is featured in the myths of many cultures.
Chromatic dragon is a classification of dragon in the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons who are typically of evil alignment, in contrast to the metallic dragons, and their queen is Tiamat. White, black, green, blue and red dragons are the classic chromatic dragons. Final Fantasy has derived a lot of influence from D&D, especially the early series. Yellow dragons are solitary and secretive, and among the most agile of all dragons. Their breath weapon is a watery blast that contains a corrosive sodium compound.
