The magus who brought about the Flood of Darkness using the crystals and devices of the ancients. Although he received the gift of mortality from his master, he was jealous of his fellow disciples and the powers they inherited. In an effort to escape his mortal bonds, he sought to destroy the world through the powers of darkness.

Xande is a playable character and boss in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia who can be recruited during the event*Global/Lost Chapter*Japan Thrall of Darkness.

After Shinryu's cataclysm destroys the first world of respite, several of Mog's warriors are transported to an entirely new world altogether. At first, only a scant few are known to have crossed into this dimension. It is they who seek the others.
As the warriors plan their next actions in their search, the Onion Knight and Desch discuss several eccentricities of their world, drawing curious questions from their allies. Mog detects a powerful presence ahead of them. Xande appears before them and is soon intent on destroying the warriors for an unknown end, almost delighting in it. He engages them, but is swiftly defeated.
No sooner is Xande laid low than the Cloud of Darkness suddenly appears from a Torsion. Xande remembers how he summoned them in his home world in an effort to acquire more power and forestall his death at the hands of the heroes; but this time, the Cloud is present of their own will and is ill interested in aiding him, instead wreaking vengeance on him and banishing him to the Void between worlds.
Though the heroes are puzzled by a sudden twist of events, as well as why the Cloud of Darkness would appear in the new world, the entity willingly gives them Xande's dimensional coordinates.
