In-game description

Wyvern Knight is an enemy from Vagrant Story.

Stats[]

Battle[]

The Wyvern Knight can use a breath attack, so jump underneath its head as soon as the battle begins to avoid this. Cast Herakles and then attack its head, body, or neck with an edged weapon buffed by Prostasia. It will drop the Chest Key on its defeat, which is required to open several very useful treasure chests.

Etymology[]

A wyvern is a medieval European mythological winged creature with a dragon's head, reptilian body, two legs (sometimes none), and a barbed tail. They appear in many crests of Europe's ancient families, symbolizing strength. The word wyvern comes from wivere, which means serpent.

A knight is a mounted soldier in armor who served his sovereign or lord in the Middle Ages. The word comes from Old English cniht ("boy" or "servant"), a cognate of the German word Knecht ("servant, bondsman, vassal"). In most European languages (with the notable exception of English), the word for "knight" comes from "horse", thus implying that a knight is a "noble horseman" or a "horse-mounted nobleman". The English noun cavalier, an archaic term for a mounted soldier, traces its roots to Latin, and is closer in meaning to the "horseman" of Romance languages.
