The Wyvern, known as Y Burn in the Anthology translation, is an enemy in Final Fantasy V, first found in Walse Tower and later on also summoned by the Metamorph; the one summoned by Metamorph does not appear in the Bestiary[note 1]. Its unique attack is Breath Wing, which is a wind-elemental attack to all members.

Etymology[]
A wyvern is a medieval European mythological winged creature with a dragon's head, reptilian body, two legs (sometimes none), and a barbed tail. They appear in many crests of Europe's ancient families, symbolizing strength. The word wyvern comes from wivere, which means serpent.
