The Soul Savers can be defeated easily, however, they revive every time they are defeated. As such, the party members must defeat and revive each other until Wrexsoul reappears. Once this happens, Wrexsoul must be defeated quickly before it uses Fury again. Another, easier way to defeat it is to simply use Banish on the Soul Savers, which defeats them and delays their final attack. However, defeating them this way means the player does not win Wrexsoul's Guard Bracelet.

Due to a glitch, it is possible to defeat the two Soul Savers permanently and never have to fight Wrexsoul. Normally due to their final attack the Soul Savers automatically revive when killed. If the player kills them using Banish, this stalls their final attack and so they never revived - when both Soul Savers are killed by Banish the battle ends and Wrexsoul is considered defeated. Winning the battle this way means the player does not win the Guard Bracelet Wrexsoul drops. If Wrexsoul is present when both Soul Savers are killed this way, the battle will automatically end when he next uses Fury.
Oddly enough, it has been observed that it is possible for Wrexsoul to permanently inhabit one of the player characters - that is, Wrexsoul may use Fury when both Soul Savers have been defeated by Banish, and the player will win.

Wrexsoul's field sprite

Wrexsoul is a boss in Final Fantasy VI. It is a demon that is possessing Cyan to feed on his hatred, despair and guilt for the deaths of the people of Doma Castle. It is flanked by two Soul Savers.

Wrexsoul starts off each battle by using an attack called Fury, which makes it disappear and possess a character's body. In order to get it to reappear, the character whom it possessed must be petrified or KO'd). The Soul Savers can be defeated easily, however, they revive every time they are defeated. As such, the party members must defeat and revive each other until Wrexsoul reappears. Once this happens, Wrexsoul can be attacked until it uses Fury again. This pattern repeats until the player is able to kill Wrexsoul completely.

Wrexsoul's special attack, KarmicBlow, is only used when sketched or Wrexsoul is confused.
