Mage Staff FFIX — Mage Staff in *Final Fantasy IX*.

Description

The Wizard's Staff is found in the Waterfall Cavern and casts Confuse when used as an item. It provides 15 Attack, 15 Accuracy, and 33 Critical, and can be used by the Black Wizard.

Final Fantasy II

A staff seething with poison.
Description

The Wizard's Staff is a mid-level staff found in Mysidian Tower and Palamecia Castle. It casts Scourge XVI when used as an item in battle, and has an Attack of 64.

Final Fantasy IX

Template:Sideicon The Mage Staff is Vivi's starting weapon, providing 12 attack and teaching the ability Fire. It can be bought for 320 gil at Dali and Black Mage Village, or found at Ipsen's Castle.

There also exists a High Mage Staff with a different Japanese name (魔導師のつえ, Madoushi no Tsue?) that has the same romanization. The difference is that the kanji pronounced shi in madoushi means "samurai", "gentleman" or "respected person" in the Mage Staff's name, while it means "teacher", "expert", or "master" in the High Mage Staff's name.

Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy XI

Template:Sideicon The Mage's Staff is the Vigil Weapon corresponding to the Black Mage's Mythic Weapon (Laevateinn), found within Nyzul Isle. It can be used to obtain the Weapon skill Vidohunir.

This staff was created under a single guiding principle--by wizards, for wizards.
Description

High Mage Staff (FFIX) grants +2 to Attack. It can be equipped by White Mage, Devout, Sage, Rydia, Krile, Eiko, and Yuna.

In this case, "High Mage Staff" is a mistranslation; if it were actually translated to match Final Fantasy IX, the staff's name would be "Mage Staff".
