A leather hat brought from the distant world of Vana'diel. It features a large brim and a folded crown that tapers in the back, and when it is equipped, it increases one's magic power. In Vana'diel, it is known as a powerful piece of equipment used exclusively by black mages.

Etymology[]
Wizard is another name for a Magician. Wizards in fantasy literature and RPGs often draw from the fiction of J. R. R. Tolkien, whose Wizards of Middle-earth are a group of beings outwardly resembling Men but possessing much greater physical and mental power. Each Wizard has robes of a characteristic color, Gandalf the Grey being a quintessential example.
A petasos or petasus (Greek: πέτασος) is a sun hat of Thessalian origin worn by the ancient Greeks, often in combination with the chlamys cape.
