It is a chocobo stable situated in the Duscae region owned by Wiz Forlane. At the post chocobo riders can rest their chocobos and Wiz sells merchandise, much of it chocobo-related. There is a caravan at the site the player can use for resting. A chocobo racing track is located across the road. |

A woman by the chocobo pens sells special greens as chocobo feed and also offers the opportunity to customize the name and color of the party's chocobos. Wiz acts as the post's tipster, and the player can talk to him for information on the surrounding area, order a meal, or volunteer for one of the available hunts. The player must take on the hunt to vanquish the behemoth Deadeye to unlock the ability to rent chocobos. + | :Wild chocobos one trotted freely through the forests of Duscae, but the recent influx of ferocious beasts has sent the birds running in fear. Despite the Hunters strengthening their patrol of the area, their numbers were not enough to attend to all the lost and injured birds, and the population continued to decrease. |

+ | :Troubled by the chocobos' travails, Wiz Forlane sought to set up a safe haven for birds in need. Thanks to his efforts, the feathered friends of the forest once again had a place to rest their tired wings in peace. Without his hard work, the national Lucian sport of chocobo racing might have been lost to the annals of time. |

The party accepts the hunt and returns to claim their bounty and to rent chocobos. Later, Wiz asks the retinue to check on a rare wild black chocobo. When the party goes to check on her, they don't find her, but find she has laid an egg. They bring the egg back to Wiz and he looks after it and informs the party when it hatches. |

Revision as of 15:36, 16 February 2020
Template:Sideicon Wiz Chocobo Post is a location from Final Fantasy XV that also appears in Final Fantasy XV: Comrades.
The outpost's item shop sells a standard assortment of curatives, as well as a cactuar statuette that Noctis can give to Talcott Hester at Cape Caem. In addition to hunts, Wiz also offers a series of sidequests to Noctis, all of which are chocobo-related.
Almanac
On a barrel near the chocobo pens.
- Duscaen dude ranch focused on the protection and propagation of everyone's favorite feathered friends. Tourists are invited to feed and interact with the birds at their leisure. The post also sponsors chocobo races and a bird rental service (for a small fee).
- Wild chocobos one trotted freely through the forests of Duscae, but the recent influx of ferocious beasts has sent the birds running in fear. Despite the Hunters strengthening their patrol of the area, their numbers were not enough to attend to all the lost and injured birds, and the population continued to decrease.
- Troubled by the chocobos' travails, Wiz Forlane sought to set up a safe haven for birds in need. Thanks to his efforts, the feathered friends of the forest once again had a place to rest their tired wings in peace. Without his hard work, the national Lucian sport of chocobo racing might have been lost to the annals of time.
Story
A few weeks after Niflheim confiscated the Regalia, Noctis and his retinue end up at the chocobo post. They encounter Umbra who leads them to Gentiana, who explains how Noctis can forge a covenant with Ramuh.
When party asks if they can rent chocobos, the owner Wiz explains that they can't because a vicious behemoth named Deadeye is making the birds afraid of leaving the outpost.
When darkness overruns Eos Wiz Chocobo Post is abandoned and in ruins. Chocobos are at first thought to be extinct, but one of Wiz's workers escorts some chocobos to Old Lestallum and some chocobo chicks are sent to Meldacio Hunter HQ, including the black chocobo chick.
Locations
Café Claire
Café Claire is operated by Wiz outside the main building. Wiz is the chef and the local tipster, who hooks the party up with various hunts (see below) and tells them about the area. Wiz's own quests (see below) are accepted by inspecting the cafe table, as talking to Wiz enters his establishment instead.

Quests
Wiz's quests
Wiz hands out several chocobo-related quests, giving chocobo-related rewards for completing them, and is first met by Noctis's group when Prompto wishes to take up chocobo racing. However, races and riding are suspended as a hulking behemoth (Deadeye) roams about the area. Noctis's party sets out to slay the beast, tracking it back to its den and slaying it. Afterward, Wiz will let the party rent chocobos and use the chocobo-grooming services to customize their looks.

After completing the "A Behemoth Undertaking" hunt and reaching Cape Caem in Chapter 6, driving by Wiz Chocobo Post has Prompto suggest a photo there, opening the quest Photo Op: Ranch. Completing it yields 250 EXP.
Episode Duscae demo
Wiz Chocobo Post is one of the locations available to visit in the Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae game demo. In the demo, the post has much more limited features available, as it is not possible to rent or ride chocobos even after Deadeye is defeated. Wiz himself mans the shop counter, but is not always actively behind it. If a "Be right back" sign is posted, the player must talk to him on the chocobo post grounds to open it.
Musical themes
"Blues de Chocobo" plays at Wiz Chocobo Post. It is a version of the traditional "Chocobo Theme," and was composed by Yoko Shimomura.
Behind the scenes
The main building at Wiz Chocobo Post has rooms inside that seem unfinished and the player can't enter the building. The "hidden" rooms can be explored with Ansel in the Windows Edition.[1]
When the party leaves Leide after Chapter 2, they talk about Duscae and where they are headed next. Ignis says Duscae has a chocobo forest, likely referring to Wiz Chocobo Post. Chocobo forests were a recurring location in the pre-PlayStation 2 era Final Fantasy games where the player could find chocobos.
Where the name of Wiz's cafe comes from is unknown, but Claire is also Lightning's true name from Final Fantasy XIII.
A "chocobo pen" dubbed Wiz Chocobo Post was present at Square Enix's booth in EGX 2016 where attendees could pet "real" chocobos.[2]

Etymology
(チョコボール, Chokobōru?). The mascot for this product is Kyoro-chan (キョロちゃん?), a bird who says "kweh".
The name "chocobo" derives from a Japanese brand of chocolate malt ball by Morinaga, ChocoBall食う / くう / kuu is a rough way to say "eat", whose volitional casual form is 食え / くえ / kue ("let's scoff 'em down!"), leading to Kweh!
