FFVI Wild Fang

Wild Fang in Final Fantasy VI (GBA).

Wild Fang (ワイルドファング, Wairudo Fangu?) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is the ability of Interceptor, which deals heavy non-elemental damage to an enemy as a counter.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy VI[]

Wild Fang is the ability of Interceptor, which deals non-elemental magical damage to one target with a spell power of 66 that ignores Defense. The attack will miss against flying enemies, and if Gogo uses Mimic right afterwards, he can use the attack again. There is a 50% chance of Wild Fang being chosen as the counter if Interceptor parries an attack for Shadow; otherwise, Interceptor will use the weaker Takedown instead.

Due to Interceptor is implemented as a "not named in-game" status effect, the Rippler bug makes it possible to lose Interceptor permanently, making it impossible to use this ability again. This ability will also never occur on the Floating Continent due to Interceptor being in Thamasa during this event.

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin[]

Wild Fang is a greatsword combo ability learned by the Liberator for 4 total Job Points. It causes the player to assume a combat stance with your weapon and deliver two powerful slashes. Holding the action ability button will extend the duration of your stance and being hit while in this stance will increase the attack's power. This attack deals physical slash damage at the cost of 100 MP and is assigned to the Link 3 greatsword combo ability slot. It deals more break damage based on Stamina and Spirit.
