White Whorl (ディープハザード, Dīpu Hazādo?, lit. Deep Hazard) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is Vaan's trademark Quickening, first appearing as his level 2 Quickening in Final Fantasy XII.

Final Fantasy XII[edit | edit source]

White Whorl is Vaan's level 2 Quickening. As with all level 2 Quickenings, it deals damage equal to a random number between 1 and 140 multiplied by Vaan's Strength, and costs two Mist Charges to execute.

White Whorl is an HP attack for Vaan. It consists of a 4-hit wind BRV magic attack and an HP attack that has a fair chance of inflicting DEF Down I for 2 turn on a target. It triggers the HP attack Luminescence on the third use.
