FFXII Holy

Holy is a White Magicks spell.

White Magicks is a skillset in Final Fantasy XII. In the Zodiac versions, only certain jobs can wield White Magick (although, again, certain party members join with basic White Magicks skills already learned). The job that learns the most White Magick is the White Mage. Certain spells can be obtained from treasures. Penelo, Ashe, and Fran, however, have access to Cure and Blindna regardless of their job.

Compared to the original White Magicks skillset, certain abilities were re-classified, and some abilities that belonged to other classes in the original version, were re-classified as White Magicks spells.

"MP cost" is defined as default MP cost. Channeling licenses lower MP cost of any spell.

White Magick contains new abilities taken from the original Green Magicks and original Arcane Magicks categories compared to the original. The job White Mage has access to all these abilities. Other jobs with limited access include:

Etymology

White magic has traditionally referred to the use of supernatural powers or magic for good and selfless purposes. With respect to the philosophy of left-hand path and right-hand path, white magic is the benevolent counterpart of malicious black magic. Because of its ties to traditional pagan nature worship, white magic is often also referred to as "natural magic".

Magick is an Early Modern English spelling for magic. Magick, in the context of Aleister Crowley's Thelema, is a term used to differentiate the occult from stage magic and is defined as "the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will", including both "mundane" acts of will as well as ritual magic.
