FFXII Holy

Holy is a White Magicks spell.

The White Magicks skillset in Final Fantasy XII differs from the Zodiac releases of the game. All characters can learn White Magicks skills by buying the appropriate license and the spell from a magick shop or a traveling merchant. Female party members join with some White Magick already learned. Later releases also re-classified some spells from other schools of magick as part of the White Magicks skillset.

Etymology[]

White magic has traditionally referred to the use of supernatural powers or magic for good and selfless purposes. With respect to the philosophy of left-hand path and right-hand path, white magic is the benevolent counterpart of malicious black magic. Because of its ties to traditional pagan nature worship, white magic is often also referred to as "natural magic".

Magick is an Early Modern English spelling for magic. Magick, in the context of Aleister Crowley's Thelema, is a term used to differentiate the occult from stage magic and is defined as "the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will", including both "mundane" acts of will as well as ritual magic.
