Description
White Magick (白魔法, Shiro Mahō?), also known as White Magic in the PlayStation version, is the action ability of the White Mage job in Final Fantasy Tactics. It contains healing and defensive magicks. In the PlayStation version White Mage has a chance of doing a chant when casting a spell, but in the War of the Lions remake these were removed.
After being learned in the White Magick skillset, the spells can also be used by Arithmetician's Arithmeticks skills.

Against undead targets, curative magicks deal damage, Arise works as an instant KO attack, and Raise does damage equal to half of the target's max HP.
Curaja has a 40% chance of being randomly learned in battle if cast on a White Mage that has not learned the spell yet and is healed at least 1 HP. Protectja and Shellja have a 10% chance of being randomly learned in battle if cast on a White Mage that has not learned the spell yet and is inflicted with the status effect.

Etymology[]
White magic has traditionally referred to the use of supernatural powers or magic for good and selfless purposes. With respect to the philosophy of left-hand path and right-hand path, white magic is the benevolent counterpart of malicious black magic. Because of its ties to traditional pagan nature worship, white magic is often also referred to as "natural magic".
