White Magic (Record Keeper)

White Magic (白魔法, Shiro Mahō?) is an ability type in Final Fantasy Record Keeper, and part of the Magic category.

Mechanics

The White Magic school is focused on healing and protecting allies, primarily with healing their HP and status. Some White Magic spells also deal Holy-elemental damage to enemies. Unlike other ability schools that deal magic damage, which calculate power based on the user's Magic (MAG), White Magic spells calculate their power based on the user's Mind (MND). This is true both for healing and for attacking White Magic.

Curative White Magic spells have a mechanic where they have a different spell power when used on undead enemies, since undead enemies take damage from healing abilities. This is also true for curative abilities in other schools.

Damage and healing formulas for White Magic are as follows:

$Recovery=(5+MND*0.75*(100/256))*curative spell power$

$Damage=((1.15*MND)*MND*0.5/RES*0.5)*spell power$

Notable abilities in the White Magic school include: Esuna, which cures status ailments; Dispel, which removes certain statuses from the target; Protectga and Shellga, which cast Protect and Shell on the party, respectively; Arise, which restores a fallen ally to full HP; Holy, which deals Holy-elemental damage to its target; and the Rank 6 abilities Curada and Reraise.
