Gameplay[]
Due to the nature of White Mages, they are the preeminent users of curative and protective magic. As a job with abilities primarily aligned with the Holy element, they also have the capacity of dealing significant damage to creatures weak to this element, particularly Undead. In terms of support, the White Mage remains the best healer in the game at any level with its party-wide buffs, great magical defenses, reviving KO'd party members, and many passive abilities dedicated to lengthening said duration and buffs.
Strengths[]
Excellent healing. The White Mage remains one of the best support job to any party level for its straightforward healing, revives, and party-wide damage mitigation. This is made even greater with the Alabaster Lord class for extra MP management.
Holy damage. This aspect is especially apparent when battling Undead enemies such as Skeletons and Wraiths.
Weaknesses[]
No "Esuna". Despite being a healer, the White Mage job itself has no means of healing status effects.
Lack of elements. The White Mage is limited to Holy as a means of stable damage, leading to a lack of elemental weaknesses to apply to enemies.
Poorer health. As a mage, the White Mage doesn't have the best HP pool, leading to a sooner demise.
Part specialization. This job only really shines when used in a party setting for its healing spells.

Tyrant is a good support job for any magic job, especially those that deal in Intellect and Spirit. The Tyrant's Enchantments help to add elemental attributes to your attacks to compliment the White Mage's focus on the Spirit stat by covering the job's lack of elemental vulnerability exploits and gain more MP, encouraging a playstyle more akin to a "battlemage".
Monk probably remains the most popular support job at any level. The Monk's stats compliment Lancers well and provide a moderate boost in total HP and means of quick attacks in melee combat. In addition, the Monk's Focus ability is useful for total damage output and damage mitigation.
Evoker is a great support job for the White Mage as another passive healer. The Evoker's stats compliment Mages well with its extra Strength and Stamina and provides a method of crowd control through the spirit's Shackle and Interrupt commands.

[view·edit·purge]White magic has traditionally referred to the use of supernatural powers or magic for good and selfless purposes. With respect to the philosophy of left-hand path and right-hand path, white magic is the benevolent counterpart of malicious black magic. Because of its ties to traditional pagan nature worship, white magic is often also referred to as "natural magic".
