Whirlwind (エアリアルレイヴ, Eariaru Reivu?, lit. Aerial Rave) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is an ability used exclusively by the Final Fantasy XIII incarnation of Bahamut, and his summoner, Oerba Yun Fang.

Whirlwind is an ability used by Bahamut at the cost of 1 ATB, which inflicts non-elemental physical damage to enemies within a small range and then launches them into the air. Bahamut uses the ability after having used Dragon Claws three times. Whirlwind is also used by Bahamut when fought as a boss, always following the attack up with Umbral Vise or Inferno.

Whirlwind is used by the Aspect of Chaos during
Lightning Strikes - On Wings of Chaos, part of the Lightning Strikes Final Fantasy XIII crossover event. It inflicts slashing damage on nearby enemies.

It costs 26 MP to use and deals 2 separate hits of physical damage with a multiplier of 10x to one enemy, and one hit of physical damage with a multiplier of 50x to one enemy. In addition, it unlocks the skill Umbral Vise for the next 5 turns.
Aerial Rave is also an ability learned by Brave Dragoon Fang. It costs 120 MP and deals 9 hits of physical damage with a multiplier of 350x to all enemies. It uses the Bolting Strike chaining family.
