Back then, it was just the snowfields and the great icy cliffs beyond it. If you scaled the cliffs, people said, you'd find an enormous crater that led down into the depths of the earth.

Wendy

Wendy is the owner of the lodge in Icicle Inn.[note 1] She is introduced in Final Fantasy VII The Kids Are Alright: A Turks Side Story.

History[]

Wendy was the owner of the lodge at Icicle Inn. Shortly before Meteorfall, the town was experiencing a dearth of tourists. Hooded figures with black robes were their only visitors; Wendy found them frightening. She met Annette Townshend when the latter journeyed north following the residents of Nibelheim. Her charges had gone too far north, however, so Annette left. She returned two months later to continue her work. Wendy attempted to stop Annette, believing she would never locate them, but was unsuccessful.

During his investigation into his mother's whereabouts, Evan Townshend met Wendy. Wendy was excited to meet him. She told him what she knew of Annette, as well as the rumor of the North Crater. Wendy warned that the eruption of the lifestream had left many deep rifts hidden by snow, making journeying north dangerous on foot.

Kadaj set her inn and other buildings on fire, but no lives were lost.

Characteristics[]

Wendy is an old woman with white hair held in a tight bun. She stands stooped, though can be unexpectedly nimble, and has a husky voice.

Notes[]

  1. In the original Final Fantasy VII, the town is referred to as Icicle Lodge in Japanese and Icicle Inn in English. The official English translation of The Kids Are Alright follows the Japanese naming convention, referring to the town as Icicle Lodge and the hotel therein as Icicle Inn.
