Kinoc operation miihen

Kinoc in Operation Mi'ihen.

Kinoc is a Maester of Yevon and the commander of Bevelle's army who oversees Operation Mi'ihen. He was once a Warrior Monk and good friend of Auron. Following Auron's fall from grace within the clergy, Kinoc took the promotion for second-in-command meant for his friend and rose to the title of Maester within ten years. However, though he gained wealth and power, Kinoc began to hunger for more while fearing of losing it. One of his exploits as Maester was the formation of an "elite" military force for Yevon. Prior to making himself known at the Mushroom Rock where Operation Mi'ihen was taking place, Kinoc assigned the candidates of his project to investigate the mysterious Den of Woe that has been closed off for a thousand years.

Overseeing Operation Mi'ihen, Kinoc is glad to see Auron who expresses his disbelief at his being made a maester. Noticing that Auron truly changed in the aftermath of Sin's devastation, Kinoc learned that all but three of his candidates and their sphere recorder mysteriously died in the Den of Woe and orders for the quartet's execution to conceal his failure.

Kinoc in the wedding

Kinoc points a gun at the party.

Kinoc later appears to oversee the wedding of Yuna and Maester Seymour Guado in Bevelle, attempting to have the Fahrenheit shot down before enlisting his Warrior Monks to hold off Yuna's guardians. Holding the party at gun point, Kinoc almost decided to kill Auron when he called him hypocrite for using machina while claiming to be acting for Yevon's will. Luckily, Yuna's escape on Valefor allows the guardians to also escape with Rikku's flash bomb to meet up atBevelle Temple. However, after Yuna obtains the aeon Bahamut, Kinoc arrests Yuna and her guardians with the promise of a "fair trial".

After the trial, Kinoc is ordered by Maester Mika to throw the refugees in the Via Purifico. When Seymour offers to personally ensure Yuna and her guardians are killed if they somehow escape, Kinoc offers to accompanies Seymour out of distrust. Unfortunately, by the time Yuna and her guardians escaped from the Via Purifico, Kinoc was unceremoniously killed by Seymour as the villain's way of relieving him "of all fear'. Shortly after, Seymour absorbs the pyreflies from Kinoc's corpse to evolve into Seymour Natus to apprehend Yuna himself.
