Kinoc is first introduced during Operation Mi'ihen, where Auron expresses his disbelief at his being made a maester. After that, he and his Warrior Monks guard the wedding of Yuna and Maester Seymour Guado in Bevelle and try to shoot down the airship, with Yuna's guardians (including Auron) aboard, as they were trying to break up the wedding.

Kinoc later appears to oversee the wedding of Yuna and Maester Seymour Guado in Bevelle, attempting to have the Fahrenheit shot down before enlisting his Warrior Monks to hold off Yuna's guardians. Holding the party at gun point, Kinoc almost decided to kill Auron when he called him hypocrite for using machina while claiming to be acting for Yevon's will. Luckily, Yuna's escape on Valefor allows the guardians to also escape with Rikku's flash bomb to meet up atBevelle Temple. Following Yuna and her guardians' escape from the Via Purifico, Kinoc accompanies Seymour to the exit to apprehend the traitors, but along the way he is unceremoniously killed by Seymour, who had 'relieved him of all fear', believing death was the only thing that could save Spira. Shortly after, Seymour absorbs the pyreflies from Kinoc to evolve into Seymour Natus to apprehend Yuna himself.
