Wedge, Biggs is a Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII used to play the minigame and for turning into items with Quezacotl's Card Mod. Wedge, Biggs is the fifty-fifth card in the inventory and the last Level 5 card. It depicts the characters Biggs and Wedge who could be counted as bosses, but are effectively the same as the G-Forces the player faces in random encounters.

Wedge, Biggs has good values for a a Level 5 card, as 7 is the highest value for Level 5 and the card has one 7 and two 6s. Its value placements may also be useful for games that use Same and/or Plus. Despite being a Level 5 Monster Card, Biggs and Wedge are more like bosses and human enemies cannot be carded. There is instead a rare chance to get their card from enemies that can be randomly encountered with the Card command.

Obtain[]

Being akin to a boss card like those on Levels 6 and 7, the Wedge, Biggs card does not drop from any enemy. Instead, there is a 6.3% chance to get it when successfully using the Card command on a Snow Lion or a Funguar.

Any AI Triple Triad player who uses Level 5 cards has a chance of using Wedge, Biggs in a play, from where the player can win it in a card match. Early such players are Trepie Groupie #1 in the Balamb Garden cafeteria, the man in charge of the Garden's entrance barriers, and Ma Dincht in Balamb Town.

Card Mod[]

A Wedge, Biggs card refines into an X-Potion with Quezacotl's Card Mod ability, a good healing item that fully restores a player character's health. In the early game, Hi-Potions are more than enough for healing purposes, however, so the player doesn't particularly need to stock up on X-Potions via the Wedge, Biggs card. Later on in the game, the player can buy X-Potions from a shop and has many other methods of restoring health as well.
