Message on the mural
The Water Shrine (水の祠, Mizu no Hokora) is a location in Final Fantasy IX and was built to house the Water Mirror. When the party was split into four groups of two, Garnet and Eiko were sent to the water shrine and there encountered the Water Guardian, Kraken. After they defeated the Guardian, Eiko and Garnet release the Water Seal, thus allowing access to the world of Terra. The outside of the shrine is covered in flowers and is surrounded by a whirlpool.
