Water Elemental is an enemy from Final Fantasy XII located in the West Sluice Control of the Garamsythe Waterway. It spawns abruptly in No. 11 Channel, West Sluice Control, No. 10 Channel (Flooded) when the player has spent at least ten minutes within the waterway. It respawns ten minutes after its last defeat, when the party enters the area.

It is tough the first time the party goes through the waterway, but it is docile until attacked or magicks are cast nearby. Because it doesn't have the "ignore terrain" augment, it greatly benefits from the terrain effect of at the Garamsythe Waterway that augments all water damage by 20%, and it already has an elemental affinity to water to boost the damage it can dish out.

Four of them are also fought alongside an Undin Entite in the Zodiac versions' Trial Mode in Stage 77. A similar enemy, called Water Chaosjet, accompanies the optional boss Chaos.

Page 1: Observations[edit | edit source]

The element of water, the vital element, present in all spaces where there exists life. Should a water elemental appear near to a befouled pool, it is made clear as a mountain spring, and for this, these entities are worshiped as purifiers by diverse faiths. 'As water consumeth all, and cleanseth the land, so doth the violence silence uprising, and purify thought,' says the central tenet of one such belief, much to the dismay of those caught up in its holy wars.
