The Water Crystal is an item that teaches the ability Aqua Breath to Quistis when used in the Item menu. It drops from a level 20–29 Fastitocalon-F or any leveled Chimera, Fastitocalon, and Grand Mantis. It can be mugged from Fastitocalon, and modified from a Fastitocalon card (1 for 1 Water Crystal) or Fastitocalon-F card (5 for 1 Water Crystal). It refines into 50 Water spells, making it a useful item to procure early in the game.

Description
Water Crystal is an item that can be traded to obtain rank points. Once the rank bar is full, further points will be added to Conquest Points. This can be done upon obtaining rank 2 in the players' home nation. It is dropped by the Cardian ("of Cups" only), Crab, Flan, Goobbue, Lamia, Leech, Orobon, Peiste, Poroggo, Pugil, Quadav, Sabotender, Sahagin, Sea Monk, Slime, Slug, Soulflayer, Uragnite monster families. Using a water cluster will shatter it into 12 water crystals. It can also be obtained from gardening and Chocobo digging.

Description
Water Crystal is a loot required to create the Ame-no-Murakumo and the Water Bombs. It drops from Mandragora Prince (Feywood only), Mistmare, Silicon Tortoise, Undin Entite, and Water Elemental and can be stolen from Mandragora Prince (Feywood only), Mistmare, Razorfin, Undin Entite, and Water Elemental. It sells for 160 gil.

Water Crystal is a high-ranked Water Shard scavenged from Limpid Crystal on Tormelados, Isle of the Megalith and Muruc Cahuac Skysea, and bought at the Sky Saloon in Chapter 6 for 721 gil (5% discount). It can be used to craft Trident, Icebrand, Rod of Ice, Rime Wand, Ice Lance, and Rainmaker.
