Use[]

Water is a rare element for the player. In addition, very few enemies are weak to the element, one of which is a one-time only enemy, another is fought only in the final dungeon at the final descent, and the other two being rare encounters. However, once the player obtains Aqualung, it will remain a powerful ability for a good portion of the game until the player obtains Beta and Trine, which can be used to exploit weaknesses. After the player obtains Magic Breath, the player can use that instead unless an enemy resists any of the three elements.

For protection, as very few enemies use Water-elemental attacks, protection is not needed. However, it is recommended to have the Water Ring for the fight against Jenova∙LIFE as all it uses is Water-elemental attacks.
