Final Fantasy Wiki

Water is an element in Final Fantasy V.

Lenna, Walse, and Istory Falls are associated with it lore-wise.

Abilities[]

!Summon Leviathan
!Gaia Waterfall
!Throw Water Scroll
!Finisher Lenna's version of Critical Attack

Notably, many abilities that visually look water-elemental are non-elemental. The !Blue Magic Aqua Breath and the !Gaia spells Big Wave and Tsunami are prime examples.

Enemy abilities[]

Party members can also use some of these enemy abilities via !Catch/Release.

Ability Description Enemy
Tidal Wave Inflicts water-elemental magical damage to all targets. Leviathan, Neo Shinryu, Shinryu, Twintania

Elemental booster[]

The Elemental Power mix is the only way to boost water-elemental damage. In particular, the A parameter of the relevant damage formula is increased by 50%. Since the boost is applied to A (as opposed to M), the effect on the actual damage is higher than +50%, unless the target's magic defense (or defense for physical spells) is 0.

Notably, the Magus Rod, the Rune Chime, and the Chaos Orb boost all elements except for water (and also holy in the case of the Magus Rod).
