The following is a list of Warrior Quests from Final Fantasy XIV version 1.0.

Pride and Duty (Will Take You from the Mountain)[]

Journal
  • After agreeing to report back to him anything you learn, gentlemanly bastard Neale has given you information regarding the whereabouts of a mysterious new member of the Company of Heroes. The man's name is Curious Gorge and rumor has it that he is holed up in a cave southeast of Camp Horizon in western Thanalan. It is said that he has journeyed from the Farreach and may be skilled in the ancient techniques of the legendary mountain warriors.
  • After warning you not to mock his unique name—on pain of decapitation—Curious Gorge tells you of his village, their art, and his reasons for journeying south. He also invites you to train in the ancient ways of the warrior, but only after proving that your will is strong enough to endure the challenge by slaying the antling workers which make their nest to the north of Curious Gorge's cave.

※ Up to three party members may accompany you. (Recommended)

  • You have slain the antling workers. Now return to Curious Gorge's cave and inform the Hellsguard of your victory.

※ The next warrior quest will be available from Curious Gorge upon reaching level 35.

Embracing the Beast[]

Journal
  • Deciphering the ancient chronicles is proving to be difficult for Curious Gorge, but he was able to learn of a legendary set of armor lost when its proud owner cast it from a mountain on Ablathia's Spine. Unfortunately, the remainder of the tale will require more time to translate. In the meantime, your teacher has devised a second exercise which will help temper your will, allowing you to tap the power of your inner beast and slay even the most nimble of foes. Travel to Humblehearth in the Black Shroud and seek out the beastkin known as Sirocco.

※ It is recommended that three party members accompany you.

※ The next warrior quest will be available from Curious Gorge upon reaching level 40.

Curious Gorge Goes to the Bazaar[]

Journal
  • Curious Gorge has learned from the chronicles that his tribe supposedly fell from grace when the city-states blamed the art of the warrior for the terrible transformation that befell a handful of newly trained soldiers and led them to murder. Not able to accept this fate, Curious Gorge has pledged to prove his tribe's innocence by showing the realm the power and skill of a true warrior—starting with a Company of Heroes mission to slay a flock of carnivorous condors that nests to the north of the Silver Bazaar.

※ Up to three party members may accompany you. (Recommended)

  • You have slain the condors in the north. Travel to the east gate of the Silver Bazaar to complete the two-pronged attack devised by Curious Gorge.
  • As you arrive in the Silver Bazaar, you bear witness to utter pandemonium as Curious Gorge's frenzied slaughter of the canyon condors comes to a close. Horrified by what they have just seen, the hamlet's residents lambaste their savior, calling him a monster. Unable to fully comprehend what has happened, Curious Gorge flees from the scene. Perhaps you should pay him a visit.

※ The next warrior quest will be available from Curious Gorge upon reaching level 45.

Looking the Part[]

Journal
  • At long last, Curious Gorge has discovered the location of his ancestor's legendary armor. Apparently, each of the five pieces that make up the set has been buried at the site of a great battle. He has marked your map with four of the locations, choosing to retrieve the final piece himself. The locations are as follows:
    • Cutter's Cry in northern Thanalan.
    • Natalan in the Coerthas central highlands.
    • Turning Leaf in the West Shroud.
    • Craneperch Tower in lower La Noscea.

※ The next warrior quest from Curious Gorge is now available.

Proof is in the Pudding[]

Journal
  • When unable to channel the power of the legendary cuirass, Curious Gorge comes to the conclusion that his ancestors are waiting for him to prove his strength before allowing him access to their secrets. To do this, he proposes a challenge based on a passage from the chronicles that tells of a final technique only passed down to those warriors who have slain the most monstrous of beasts. In short, whoever fells Audhumbla from the caves of Iron Lake and earns the technique first will lay claim to all five pieces of the legendary armor.

※ It is recommended that seven party members accompany you.

※ The next warrior quest will be available from Curious Gorge upon reaching level 50.

How to Quit You[]

Journal
  • Before settling the issue regarding who is to receive the complete set of ancient armor, Curious Gorge has asked you to accompany him once again to the Silver Bazaar where it is said a terrible creature is attacking the hamlet's citizens. He believes this is an opportune moment to prove to the realm that the art of the warrior is not one to be feared.

※ Up to seven party members may accompany you. (Recommended)

  • Upon arriving in the Silver Bazaar, you find that Curious Gorge is already engaged in battle with the creature...which appears to be a man outfitted in the same warrior's garb as your friend. You later learn that this man is, in fact, Curious Gorge's missing brother, Broken Mountain, and that he has succumbed to his inner beast and its insatiable bloodlust. In his attempt to free his brother from the beast's tightening grip, Curious Gorge, too, loses himself to the rage, and after toppling his brother, sets his frenzied gaze on you!

※ Up to seven party members may accompany you. (Recommended)

  • You have helped Curious Gorge regain control of his inner beast. Now speak with him once more at the Silver Bazaar to ensure that he is truly sound of mind.
