Warburton is a non-playable character in Final Fantasy XIV. He is Ascilia's father, and appeared during Ul'dah's main story in version 1.0.

History[]

Final Fantasy XIV (version 1.0)[]

Warburton was a Garlean spy whose true loyalties lay with the Ala Mhigan Resistance. He stole a great deal of imperial research on primals and compiled the findings in his private diary. Warburton left Ala Mhigo with his daughter, Ascilia, to deliver the research to Ul'dah. Arriving in the city-state, an ongoing parade was disrupted through the actions of F'lhaminn Qesh, Greinfarr Redblade, and their compatriots, and a Goobbue escaped, causing chaos. The goal was to subdue the beast and for Greinfarr and Niellefresne Thaudour to be claimed as heroes for political strength. Ascilia was nearly trampled by the Goobbue before Warburton leapt out to defend her, suffering fatal injuries.[1]

Warburton fell ill for several days at Frondale's Phrontistery, where he was taken for treatment, but died of his injuries and the information he carried was never given.[2] Niellefresne and Mumuepo planned to use Heartstrike to revive him. This plan failed with the assassination of Niellefresne.[3]

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn[]

Warburton's diary served to guide Ascilia, now known as Minfilia, for several years until she decided to entrust it to Urianger Augurelt, in the hope that he would be able to unravel its remaining mysteries.[4]

Characteristics[]

Warburton has short blond hair. He wears black leather pants and a black velveteen sash on his waist.
