Hey all. Welcome to my Final Fantasy XIII Missions guide. I know everyone won't be doing these missions at the same time in the game. Some of you might save these until your done with the story. Some of you might feel like doing all 64 missions before you head back to Cocoon (Really bad idea by the way >.>). So as a heads up, if you continue with the story mode before you start the missions, you probably won't need my help until after Mission 15. If you want to get buff and stronger (or just want to ride a Chocobo before you move on with the game) then stick with this page and the next. (Just to let you know, I did 1-10 before the 3rd fight with Barthandelus.)

I also realize we won't have the same team during most of these missions. I'm going to be sticking with Lightning/Fang/Hope through most of these missions, but some missions I will require a certain team. With different teams comes different methods. I won't be going through missions with every possible team and writing down the best solution for each. Instead, I'll write down the method I used and hopefully provide a good example for whichever team you're using.

I might add a few notes to some missions stating what people I used, where you should probably be in the game, and the abilities you should have in order to complete it (along with other notes). Most missions will have a 5-star method, just incase you want that L'Cie Paragon trophy/achievment. I hope this helps a lot. Good luck. I BELIEVE IN YOU ALL!!!

I should let you know though, that these strategies that I am writing are extremely simplified. Or atleast they sound like it. What else should I say besides "Stagger and kill" for a simple leech? I trust that you understand what I'm saying and that you're strong enough to take them on your own.

Mission 01 - Pond Scum[]

FFXIII enemy Ectopudding
Mark: Ectopudding
Cie'th Stone Location: Archylte Steppe – Central Expanse, near the exit to Vallis Media
Mark Location: Archylte Steppe – Central Expanse
Class: D
Reward: Energy Sash
Note: This should mostly apply if you're doing this mission immediately after we entered the Archylte Steppe.

The Ectopudding can do some big damage, putting you in yellow with just one hit.

Libra the Ectopudding. Start out with Guerilla to build the Chain Gauge, debuff the enemy, and buff the party. Hope should know to use Enthunder if he has it. Switch to Tri-Disaster to get it staggered, then switch to Aggression to finish it off. Use Diversity when you need to.

Mission 02 - Goodwill Hunting[]

Uridimmu
Mark: Uridimmu
Cie'th Stone Location: Archylte Steppe – Central Expanse, near the first mission mark
Mark Location: Archylte Steppe – Central Expanse
Class: D
Reward: Cobaltite
Note: For the first few missions, the mission mark will be pretty close to the next mission, so it's pretty convenient. There are 4 Gorgonopsids accompanying the Uridummu.

Fighting more than 2 Gorganopsids can be very difficult. If you're fighting them before you finish the game, they can do a lot of damage to your team. Switch to a Medic Paradigm when anyone's HP goes below 50%.

Start out with Guerilla to buff yourselves with Protect. Then switch to Tri-disaster or Relentless Assault to stagger and kill the Gorgonopsids one by one. Do the same for the Uridummu.

Mission 03 - Massif Contamination[]

Ugallu
Mark: Ugallu
Cie'th Stone Location: Archylte Steppe - Central Expanse
Mark Location: Yaschas Massif - Tsubaddran Highlands
Class: D
Reward: Platinum Bangle
Note:

You can get a preemptive strike on it. Debuff it with atleast 2 debuffs, then switch to a Paradigm with some Commandos to Launch it.

Mission 04 - A Hero's Charge[]

Mark: Adroa
Cie'th Stone Location: Yashas Massif - Tsubaddran Highlands
Mark Location: Yaschas Massif - The Ascendant Scarp
Class: D
Reward: Pearl Necklace
Note: There are 4 Adroas and 2 Verdelets.

Start out with Aggression because Blitz will take out the Adroa's quickly. For the Verdelets, go with Relentless Assault. If you don't defeat the Adroa's within about a minute, they will summon an Uridimmu.

FFXIII enemy Edimmu
Mark: Edimmu
Cie'th Stone Location: Yaschas Massif - The Ascendant Scarp
Mark Location: Yaschas Massif - Tsumitran Basin

Bituitus
Mark: Bituitus
Cie'th Stone Location: Yaschas Massif - Paddrean Archaeopolis
Mark Location: Yaschas Massif - Paddrean Archaeopolis

Cie'th Stone Location: Archylte Steppe - Central Expanse
Mark Location: Archylte Steppe - Central Expanse

Note: You need Fang and Vanille.

Start out with Assassination. It needs to be Slowed, Imperiled, and Cursed. Once it's HP is down to about half, it will stand up and recover all of its HP. The debuffs will be removed as well. Debuff it again and try to stagger it.
