Page Sixteen- Off to Hell we go. - FlamesofRebirth

Completely Random Introductory Quote-

If you don't like your job you don't strike. You just go in every day and do it really half-assed. That's the American way.

Homer Simpson

Chapter 10 Continued[]

The Dreams of Man[]

The Fifth Ark[]

We're almost through here, but before you rush off to finish it, set your party back to random battle mode.

Paradigm Deck- Fang, Lightning, Vanille
Relentless Assault Commando Ravager Ravager
Diversity Commando Ravager Medic
Aggression Commando Commando Ravager
Tireless Charge Commando Commando Medic
Ruthless Commando Ravager Saboteur
Solidarity Sentinel Commando Medic

"Boot camp for L'Cie" - Fang[]

Move forward to reach a dead end with a red circle. Use it to activate the lift, then run over and stand in the middle. You are about to get ambushed, but when you see the enemies' shadows you can run to them so the bad guy lands on top of you, giving you a preemptive strike.

Battle- Circuitron x 3
Only one direction to go.

Battle- Phosphoric Ooze x 2, Pulsework Knight
This is a three way battle, but not really. They're only pretending to fight each other until you show up, so you won't get a preemptive and the monsters won't attack each other. They do still start with half HP, but that doesn't help you much because you have to stagger the Knights before you can damage them.

Battle- Phosphoric Ooze x 3, Pulsework Knight x 2
This is also a phony three way fight.

Fifth Ark

Artwork of the Fifth Ark, in case you weren't sure what the place you spent the last hour of gameplay in looked like.

Battle- Pulsework Knight x 3
When you enter the circular room, you will see a short scene of these Knights and the group of 4 Circuitrons coming in, but if you want to avoid both groups you can just dip out the door to the right of where you came in.

Battle- Circuitron x 4

Battle- Pulsework Knight x 2, Stikini
Just like the last round room, you can fly right through without fighting if you want. The hallway after this room has a Feymark off to the right of the path.

Battle- Imp x 4, Pulsework Knight x 2
Yet another three way but not a three way battle. Jump down to the lower level to the right of these guys.

Battle- Greater Behemoth
Same strategy as always, start with Ruthless.

Battle- Circuitron x 4
Once again if you don't want to fight them just run out the other door.

Battle- Skata'ne x 2, Stikini, Greater Behemoth
This battle can be tough, so get into Diversity early to make sure you don't get killed during the paradigm shift animation. As always, take out the Stikini first, then the Skata'ne, then the Behemoth. When you're done, take the door to the left instead of going straight to the destination.

Battle- Berserker
The treasure is 3 Electrodes. Now go back to the previous room and take the other door to reach the destination marker. Hit the red circle to activate the lift.

Battle- Skata'ne x 2, Stikini
You fight these guys on the lift, try to do the ambush reversal trick again.

Fifth ark ffxiii

Not many pics of this area, apparently. Stupid wall of text, needing to be broken like this. Damn you!

Battle- Berserker
You can easily sneak around behind him for a preemptive attack.

Battle- Skata'ne x 2

Battle- Skata'ne x 2, Stikini

Battle- Stikini x 2, Skata'ne
After you go through the door, look for a treasure on the left side of the hallway, it's 2 Otherworldly Bones.

Battle- Berserker

Battle- Berserker
With the Berserkers out of the way, hit the red circle to open the door.

On Wings of Misery[]

If you haven't been using my suggested party up to now, you will be forced to for this battle. Even if you do have Fang, Light, and Vanille, the game will still put up the Battle Team Changed graphic and change your paradigm deck to the shittiest setup in the history of shitty setups. If you want to, you can hit retry and then use the menu to give yourself Entourage (Sen Rav Med) and Matador (Sen Rav Sab) and just use those for the entire fight. If you don't want to bother changing the default deck, just switch between the two settings that make Fang a Sentinel.

Eidolon Battle- Bahamut[]

You should always have Fang as a Sentinel in this battle, not only will she soak up the relentless attacks, but that is one of the ways to raise the Gestalt gauge. The others are debuffing and raising the chain gauge, so Saboteurs and Ravagers are the way to go. You'll want a Medic most of the time here, but you need to keep attacking with your Ravager to build the gauge up quickly enough. Rely on Fang to absorb most of the damage with Mediguard and Entrench. As always, the new summoner gets an added ATB segment.

Terra Incognita[]

Look! A new path!

Vanille

Walk down the glowing blue path that looks like it came out of the Great Crystal to leave Cocoon behind.

Chapter 11[]

A Fruitless Search[]

Gran Pulse[]

That's right, a new chapter on the same page. The ending of the last chapter and the beginning of this one are both short, and this will make organizing the walkthrough a lot easier. Your default party here is Lightning, Snow, and Sazh. You can change it to the normal setup with the ladies, or just leave it for this short section.

"Bloodthirsty wildlife and crumbling ruins" - Lightning[]

The first thing you have to do here is find Hope, so follow the mini-map to him. Almost all of the enemies in this section can be avoided if you dodge, dip, duck, dive, and dodge quickly enough. Keep that in mind when you have to run through here a million times later on.

FFXIII enemy Alraune

Battle- Alraune x 4
This is by far the weakest enemy on Pulse. No worries.

Battle- Flan x 2
They are weak to Fire and resist physicals like all good Flan.

Battle- Alraune x 3, Flan

Battle- Dire Flan
For now, since you're a little weak, I would start him off with Ruthless until you get Deshell on him. Pick up the treasure sphere for a Partisan.

FFXIII enemy Flan

Battle- Flan x 2

Battle- Dire Flan

Battle- Alraune x 3, Flan

A Man's Hope is His Castle[]

When you get Hope back to camp, he tries to wuss out and quit. Alexander isn't having any of that, so you have to fight him with Hope, Light, and Fang. The default paradigms you're given are fine here.

Eidolon Battle- Alexander[]

This is not an ordeal. This is a gift

The first two paradigms are the only ones you really need here. Start with Protection until you get Protect on everyone, then switch to Entourage for the rest of the fight. When Alex uses Lofty Challenge, you can switch to Relentless Assault to speed things up, since he won't attack for a few seconds. After two rounds, switch back to Entourage so Fang gets set up as a Sentinel again. As long as Fang is the one absorbing the hits here, you're good to go. Hope obviously gets an ATB upgrade after the fight.

"Our final journey had just begun" - Vanille[]

I've been promising all along that the game would open up eventually. It finally happens on the next page.
