Gran Pulse isn't as bad as they made it sound like on Cocoon. I was looking forward to all the fire and brimstone of Hell, but sadly all I got was grassy feilds and now some abandoned diging site. Well on the bright side I can lead you to some optional areas for once instead of just saying "run forward". With all that aside welcome to Part 14 of Cymbeline's Walkthrough.
Mah'habara[]
Once you enter, head down the linear path to the Save Station. I guess now is a good a time as any to tell you about the enemies in the area. Almost everything is weak to Lightning and the bomb-like enemies are weak to fire. Thats about it really. Oh and for Paradigms you don't need Espionage here and Diversity should definatly be Vanille as the Medic. Why? Because she is far superior to Hope in this field now. After that lets head forward. On your way you'll see a treasure sphere with the Hauntclaire. After that just continue forward until you reach a fork in the road. At the fork take the left path all the way to the end where you will run into the Juggernaut. You can not win this battle, so just die and return back to the fork. The nice thing about this is that all the weaker enemies respawned. At the fork go left and follow it to a Save Station. The Boxed Phalanx is a pain in the ass, so I suggest that you make the Mystic Tower Paradigm (Two Ravager's and a Sentinel) and fight him using that and Combat Clinic to heal. Once he's gone the battle can be finished efficently in Diversity. You might as well leave Mystic Tower in you Paradigm deck, I'm sure there are more Boxed Phalanx's in this tunnel.
After that battle, you'll get a scene about the Pulse Fal'Cie. The best part about this scene is that Snow doesn't say a thing. Anyway save, then make your way forward like usual. BTW Combat Clinic or any paradigm with a Sentinel will keep you alive when the bombs explode because Sentinel's lower the damage the whole team takes. When you reach an area with two side room things on your left enter both of them and open the treasure spheres for Electrodex4 and Chobham Armorx4. Then continue forward like normal. You'll get another scene introducing the Pulse Fal'Cie Atomos. After that head forward and instead of heading up the ramp to your left, continue straight and follow the path to a treasure sphere with Tesla Turbinex4. Now go back and head up the ramp doing the same thing we've been doing for awhile: going forward. Along the way you'll reach a treasure sphere with Saint's Amuletx2. Then just keep moving forward. Save at the Save Station and develope your character's a little. Work and Vanille and Hope's Ravager role and Fang's Sentinel role. Head forward for a scene between Vanille and Fang and our very last Eidolon Battle.
After that go back and save up, then continue forward on our ever so exciting quest to Oerba. I'm sorry but where is all the hard stuff? I'm tired of boss fights that are eaisier than some of the regular encounters. As you continue down the path you'll run into a treasure sphere with an Ice Charm. After that there really isn't much we can do here other than continue on to the next Save Station. When you reach this area don't head up to the middle area, because that is a Juggernaut and you know what they can do to you. Instead head to your right and open the treasure sphere here for a Particle Accelerator. Head back to the Save Station and save, then continue forward. After crossing the bridge you should see a treasure sphere bobbing to your right and open it for Cyrstal Oscillatorx3. Then continue forward like normal. Head down the stairs on either side and look at the stairs on the opposite side to see the final treasure sphere of the area which has Perfect Conductorx3. Now its just a nice walk all the way to the end of the area.
Here you get a scene where Hope gets the brilliant Idea of imitating the Vile Peaks, just like Lightning said. Hmm I guess the Juggernauts arn't all that bad they gave us a way out of this area. Hop onto Atomos and ride him out of here to the Sulyya Springs. Once there turn around and ride Atomos back to Mah'habara. There's an optional area for us to visit.
Back in Mah'habara, continue forward and save at the Save Station. Then follow the linear path till it splits. Most enemies are still weak to Lightning, but the bird things (Skata'ne and all enemies similar to him/her) are weak to Water instead. The big blue Tyrant has over 700,000 HP so take him on if you really, really want to. At the split take the path to your left and follow it until this path splits. Take the right path and open the treasure spheres here for Perfect Conductorx3 and a Rainbow Anklet. (The fight before hand is hard, but sticking with Diversity through most of the battle is a good idea.) Now turn around and follow the other path (its right in front of you) and you'll see two of the pod things on the right wall. Each of them has a treasure sphere and by opening them you will get Metal Armbandx2 and Particle Acceleratorx2. (The 6 Bombs are tough, but if you manage to kill off 2 or 3 before they start blowing up then stay in Combat Clinic you should be able to survive.) Now make your way back to the origional Split and take the other path.
This path is extremely linear, as there are no splits. as you make your way around a turn your mini-map will point you to a part of the map that you can jump to. Do so and open the treasure sphere here for a Moogle Puppet. Now continue down the path. At the only split, its just a loop so take any path you want. Open the treasure sphere at the end of the loop for a nugget of Perovskite. This little guy will allow you to make any member of your teams upgraded weapons into a rank two weapon. But we'll worry about that later, for now make your way back to Atomos and ride him to the Sulyya Springs.
