I love this soundtrack. Wonderful, wonderful. Anyway, we've arrived at the Thunder Plains, where Rikku's severe astraphobia causes her to annoy Auron so much he suggests she just pisses off. Sadly for us, Rikku decides to get over herself and continue on with us, regardless.

Dotted across the plains are funny little glowing stones with Qactuars on them. Activating these - by pressing - allows encounters with Qactuars, which have handy things for you to steal, like Chocobo Feathers and stuff. Activate one stone to allow encounters with one Qactuar, two stones for two Qactuars and three stones for three. Three's your limit though (don't be greedy), and you can only activate a stone if it's glowing.

With that little nifty chat over, let's get back to Treasure Hunting. On the <span style="color:navy;">Thunder Plains: South</span> screen, you'll find a Treasure Chest with 5000 gil to the left side of the plains, and a Treasure Chest with a Water Ball in an alcove to the right side of the plains (equip this ASAP, por favor). With that done, there's not much else to do other than train, do that is you so wish. If not, take the left exit to the North of the Plains for Rikku to finally crack. "Heh heh heh heh heh"? Really? She's lost it.

Yuna wil excuse herself and head to her room. If you talk to Rikku again after Yuna's departure, you'll get another +8 boost. Anyway, once you talk to everyone, Rin will finally show his overly tanned face. Speak to him and tell him your Al Bhed studies are going well, and he'll give you an Al Bhed Primer Vol. XIV to continue your studies. Now follow Yuna down the corridor to her room.

Turns out she's watching Jyscal's sphere, and Tidus bursts in on her in a kind of creepy "peeping through your lock whilst you undressed" kind of way. With this embarrassment behind them, the team finally rest up, and we're ready to continue on. Speak to Rikku in the morning to enable our departure. Outside, you'll see the Treasure Chest which will eventually contain all your Lightning Dodging prizes. Also, there's a Yellow Shield on the ground in front of the Agency. It's not in a Chest or anything, so just hit to examine it on the ground: it's pretty important you don't miss this, as it comes with Lightningproof, which nulls all lighning-based attacks. Snazzy.

Head straight to your right upon entering the North Plains to find a Treasure Chest with an X-Potion inside. Now head North, until you eventually come across another Save Sphere. Tip: the Plains is a pretty sweet place to grind or train up. On the left hand side of the Plains towards the North is a Chest with an Ether, and there's one just ahead with a Remedy, and one on the right hand side of the Plains with 2000 gil. Pretty sure that's all the Thunder Plains plunder, please let me know on the Talk Page if I've missed anything.

Story-wise, Yuna will drop the bomb: she's decided to marry Seymour Creep-Face Guado for the greater good of the people. Tidus has a mental fit and just about combusts on the spot. I generally felt sorry for him as he watched himself helplessly getting hit by the biggest cockblock of all: the institution of marriage. Poor lad, poor lad.

Bula Uro, amigos, and welcome to Part 15 of Paramina's Final Fantasy X International Walkthrough. I've decided I've got to finish this before XIII comes out so I can start the walkthrough for that ASAP... I'm also hoping to finish it in enough time to replay and write a walkthrough for VII. Maybe I'm being optimistic/delusional, who knows? We'll see how it goes.

Mission: Cross the Thunder Plains to reach MacarenaMacalania Temple ("Aye!")

The Thunder Plains is unlike any other area we've crossed in Spira so far: yes, it is still a straight line, but you actually have to pay attention as to where you're going. You have to dodge the thunder bolts that constantly hit the area by tapping X-button. Because Square are torturous bastards, spamming X-button basically negates any action on your part, rendering it useless. You have to hit X-button precisely for each thunder bolt - I'd aim for when your screen turns white to hit it. For just now, you're dodging for the sake of easy passage. However, you can count your successive dodges and receive certain items for doing so. The correlation between dodges and items is as follows:

Number of Bolts Dodged Prize
5 X-Potion x2
10 Mega-Potion x2
20 MP Sphere x2
50 Strength Sphere x3
100 HP Sphere x3
150 Megalixir x4
200 Venus Sigil

You can collect your prize outside of Rin's Travel Agency, which we'll come to in a little bit. On an interesting note, you can also win prizes by not dodging thunder bolts successively: be struck 30 times for an Ether, and 80 times for an Elixir. Whoever said being a massive fail doesn't pay off?

This will be a reasonably short section to cover, so I'm going to draw it out by going into unnecessary details about encounters and what have you. The enemies you will face here are all of the Lightning element, which was why I advised you to buy Yellow Equipment in Guadosalam before we left.

Just before the Save Sphere is a Treasure Chest with Phoenix Down x2 inside. Save Up, then proceed forward - you should pass another Treasure Chest, this time with Hi-Potion x2 just ahead of the Save Sphere. Now you've got a bit of a free reign ahead of you as you progress through the Thunder Plains. Standing beneath the towers prevents you from getting struck, but I can never be bothered actively crossing the area to get to one and having to deal with multiple Random Encounters. Oh, as a note: You should be stealing from as many Random Encounters now as you can. I'm not going to tell you to steal from every one, because that will become invariably tedious. Just do it whenever you feel like it. Preferably often.

Dotted across the plains are funny little glowing stones with Qactuars on them. Activating these - by pressing Square-button - allows encounters with Qactuars, which have handy things for you to steal, like Chocobo Feathers and stuff. Activate one stone to allow encounters with one Qactuar, two stones for two Qactuars and three stones for three. Three's your limit though (don't be greedy), and you can only activate a stone if it's glowing.

With that little nifty chat over, let's get back to Treasure Hunting. On the Thunder Plains: South screen, you'll find a Treasure Chest with 5,000 gil to the left side of the plains, and a Treasure Chest with a Water Ball in an alcove to the right side of the plains (equip this ASAP, por favor). With that done, there's not much else to do other than train, do that is you so wish. If not, take the left exit to the North of the Plains for Rikku to finally crack. "Heh heh heh heh heh"? Really? She's lost it.

"Fine, we rest. She's worse than the storm."

Inside Travel Agency 1

I love being able to put relevant artwork in here.

Here's another chance to alter Affection Levels, particularly with Rikku. If Rikku is... your kind of... girl (?) then pay attention:

 • To increase either Yuna, Lulu or Rikku's Affection Level +4: Speak to one of them first before entering the Agency or having Rikku beg Auron.
 • To increase Rikku's Affection Level +8: Enter the Travel Agency before Auron leaves the area.

Inside the Agency, everyone's standing around. Hey-ho, another Affection Level situation:

 • To increase either Lulu or Rikku's Affection Level +4: Speak to one of them before everyone else.

Yuna will excuse herself and head to her room.

It's not in a Chest or anything, so just hit X-button to examine it on the ground: it's pretty important you don't miss this, as it comes with Lightningproof, which nulls all lighning-based attacks. Snazzy.

Back to the Plains

In Thunder Plains: North, you'll come across a new enemy, the Iron Giant. They can be difficult to take down, but come with a bounty of 800 AP, so they're worth the fight: open with Power Break, Haste your attackers and you should live to tell the tale.

Head straight to your right upon entering the North Plains to find a Treasure Chest with an X-Potion inside. Now head North, until you eventually come across another Save Sphere. Tip: the Plains is a pretty sweet place to grind or train up. On the left hand side of the Plains towards the North is a Chest with an Ether, and there's one just ahead with a Remedy, and one on the right hand side of the Plains with 2,000 gil.
