Hamfruitcake doing her bit for charity and giving all the clothes she never wears any more to Oxfam, now to get these big ass bin bags down the sweltering street without a car...

Kilika Woods[]

Hey what do you we're in the woods! The first battle you will come across will involve a short tutorial involving Kimahri and his Lancet ability. You will then learn Seed Cannon from the Ragora, cast Fire and hit it with it's own attack (Seed Cannon) for this fight to end quickly.

The battles around here shouldn't cause you too much trouble but will be a nice chance for you to start getting your teeth into your Sphere Grid. Hit the Bees and Dinonix with Wakka and Tidus respectively, flush the out the Yellow Elements with Lulu's Water magic and use Fire and standard attacks on the Ragora to handle any battles you may encounter. If you want to involve everybody but some characters have nothing to do you can always hit the Triangle-button to make them Defend for a tun super quick giving them an action and allowing you to change them out swiftly. You may find that you'll run out of Ability Spheres as you move around the forest but have no fear, there will be places to find them, just not here yet unfortunately. You'll notice the characters are very talkative in these battles ensuring, have no fear they do occassionally get bored of talking. Some of the lines they come out with are so cringeworthy... I'm looking at you Tidus...

Take the path to the right of the Save Sphere to find a chest containing 2x Mana Sphere and a dead end. Take the left path from the Save Sphere to delve deeper into the forest, the path on the right you come to will have a chest containing a Scout for Wakka. Keep heading along to find some Crusaders dashing about, talk to the lead one to recieve a prize off them in a few minutes. If you take the right path here you will encounter a giant vegetable, ignore it for now whilst we hunt for treasure.

The path north from the Crusaders leads around and you will find them again, talk to the Captain to recieve a Hi-Potion. Head north and take the left path to find another dead end and a chest containing a Luck Sphere. Go down the path to the right of the Crusader and head up if you wish to head to the next area. Otherwise back track around the vegetable and Save Up at the sphere before tackling that big vegetable in the middle.

When approaching Ochu take the northern path for Luzzu and Gatta to warn you about Lord Ochu being a bit of tough nut to crack. Let's show them!

Optional Boss Battle : Lord Ochu
Mandragora-enemy-ffx
HP: 4,649 (800)
Attacks: Poison Claw, Water, Rest (regains HP), Earthquake
AP: 40 (60)

Not quite the threat the Crusaders assume it to be, 100 soldiers? Please.

Poison Claw coincidentally will inflict Poison on one of your characters, tackle this with an Esuna from Yuna, keep her around to heal up when Water hits too as it can hurt your team a fair bit. The rest of your team will be attacking and Lulu will be casting Fire. Just heal and keep hacking away it, if you have it, use Haste on Lulu to speed things up a bit.

Beware that when it goes to sleep it will restore a good chunk of it's HP, use Fire on it only at this point to prevent it from attacking you, you should be taking off more than it is healing at this point. You could also bring in Valefor to take of the remainder of his HP with a powerful Overdrive at this point, with this you will surely get an Overkill for that valuable extra AP. Just remember an Overdrive takes off about 2000 damage. To fill up Valefor's Overdrive bar while Ochu is asleep just repeatedly use Sonic Wings as this will slightly add to his limit bar each time, it'll be full in no time.

Luzzu and Gatta are in awe of your brilliance, why thank you! Seriously, it was nothing... Go talk to them when they leave and Luzzu will give you an Elixir, Gatta will give you nothing because he's rubbish. Talk to the Crusader Captain on the left pathway to recieve a Remedy. When you're ready head to the temple by going through the right part of the forest, past the middle path based Crusaders, and heading northwards. When come to the stairs you're there.

Kilika Temple[]

The Aurochs are all waiting for you on the steps to the temple and Wakka fancies giving you a lecture which Tidus doesn't seem impressed by. Jassu and Datto want a race, Yuna judges, whoa wait a minute; now that's cheating! Hey come back! Tidus you'll never win a race like that! Save up and follow the cheats upstairs. Uh-oh this isn't good...

Boss Battle : Sinspawn Geneaux
Sinspawn Geneaux-enemy-ffx
HP: 3,000 (900)
Attacks: Sigh, Venom, Water, Stacatto
AP: 48 (72)

This guy is technically easier than Lord Ochu, you're previous combatant being an optional battle. His only may attacks are Sigh which harms the party as whole minimally, Venom which can be tackled with Esuna, a weak Water attack and Stacatto a weak Physical attack. No problemo!

Your first task is to get rid of those tentacles with some brute physical strength from the boys. They only have 450 HP so should be dispatched pretty quickly. Again this guy is weak to Fire so blast it with Lulu who should recieve a healthy Haste status from our chum Tidus. When it gains 600 HP of damage it's shell will open leaving it vulnerable to Physical attacks to get the boys in to provide this along with Lulu and her magic. After that count down the HP until it's time to bring Valefor to provide that much sought after Overkill for the extra AP. If you need Valefor's Overdrive bar to charge faster hit the right directional button and use the Boost option for his defence to lower but his bar to fill quicker. It'll fill up in no time but don't forget to use Sonic Wings to balance out the damage against her. Nee hassle.

Hey you got some Ability Spheres, you need more but it's a start I guess. At this point Wakka should be close to learning Extract Ability, teach him this and use it on enemies to encourage them to drop Ability Spheres this will help with your stock problems.

Wakka starts quizzing Tidus about Zanarkand and infuriates a very friendly sounding Lulu. Head toward the temple and meet your adversaries in the upcoming blitzball tournament. Nice chaps. Bickson's overly effeminate voice really makes him less imposing than he's trying to be. Wakka responds in his usual manner.

In the temple Wakka is praying, join if you want to, we'll need all the luck we can get in this blitzball tournie it would appear. We then get to meet another Summoner, Donna, delightful woman wearing some hideous clothes with a block headed lover for a guardian. Yuna more than holds her own against the bitch, she then gives Tidus a very cheerful gaze, Tidus are you really that clueless? Come on!

Head up the stairs to the Cloister of Trials. The team are all raring to go but for some odd reason you're not allowed to join them. Wait for the lift to return before trying to have a go on yourself. Dona and cause some trouble... Is she aware her ass is completely on show? Is she even bothered? Who in their right mind dresses like that?

The door to the Cloisters await, let's do this! Fun times await!

The Cloister of Trials[]

  • Take the Kilika Sphere from the pedestal. Place it in the recess to the right of the door for it to burn, remove it for the door to disappear.
  • Carry the Kilika Sphere to the next room and place it in the recess on the northern wall for a glyph to appear. Remove the Sphere and place it in the recess on the right wall.
  • Touch the Glyph for the wall to move. Push the pedestal through the doorway, until you reach the next room. Take the Kilika Sphere from the wall on the right and place it in the recess on the wall in the previous room.
  • Take the Glyph Sphere from the pedestal and put it in the recess on the right (where you just removed the Kilika Sphere). Take one of the Kilika Spheres and place it in the pedestal, push the pedestal to the flashing light on the floor.
  • The platform will be destroyed. Go down the stairs on the left and remove the Kilika Sphere, go up the stairs on the right and place it in the recess on the right of the door. Go upstairs and take the Destruction Sphere and put it in the recess downstairs.
  • A chest will appear containing a Red Armlet. Go upstairs and take the Kilika Sphere from the recess next to the burning door and go upstairs through the now clear doorway. Complete!

The guys aren't happy by your intrusion, apparently this might harm Yuna's chances of getting her Aeon or she might be excommunicated, great. Talk to Lulu who will explain the Chamber of the Fayth briefly to you, ask Wakka some more for Lulu to explain further. Make a move to leave and Yuna will emerge, hey she's getting better, didn't take so long this time, nice one Yuna!

You now name your new Aeon, Ifrit, leave the Temple for another scene to occur. Some guy will be running around in the background, you'll later come to know him more personally, Tidus will have a memory of being a hotshot and famous, he must miss that a lot... He then gives the team a bit of a shock...

There's nothing else to do here so head back to the Docks through the wood to continue onwards. Embark on the boat for more maritime marvels to occur.

S.S. Winno[]

Ah I do love a calm night time boat ride... You'll be below deck to start with your Blitzball team. It would seem that Balgerda and Doram, the girls from the Luca Goers have a bit of a thing for Keepa, I don't really see the attraction but... Ok... There is a chest behind Abus containing a Hi-Potion for you to pick up and then you can leave the blitzers to their own tricks and head up to the deck. O'aka will be outside, he's a bit flustered, 'What's an O'aka to do?' so lend him some spare change if you have any going. To get any gain from meeting him you have to give him, overall, 10,001 gil now that's a lot of gil but don't worry, it'll come back to you in kind. Give him 1000 gil here for now or more if you're feeling generous. Save up and head to the upper deck.

Upstairs there is a guy in blue who, no matter how much you chase him around, refuses to talk to you, the cheek! The stairs leads you slap bang into a conversation between Lulu and Wakka, eavesdrop as much as you want. They clearly know Yuna has a thing for you... They discuss Tidus becoming Yuna's guardian, there seems to be a bit of moment between the pair but maybe I'm looking into it too deeply. Listen to them four times then run up there to pick up the Al Bhed Primer V, today's lesson, A = E, I may need a lie down after that, too much to take! To the front of the boat. There will be a blitzball lying in the middle of the deck.

Oh god it's a mini-game. I thought I escaped these from FFVII... Actually it's quite an easy one. You will need to succeed in order to win the upcoming blitzball game though so it's a good idea to reset if you do fail. The idea is to hit the directional buttons and the X-button when Jecht's insults appear on the screen, if one appears in the middle just tap X-button for an easy point. You need 10 points to succeed. Not too difficult, you get plenty of practise.

The Aurochs surround you at this point and demand you teach them your awesome new move. Unforunately they aren't so good at it themselves... Fun to watch them try though, poor Datto. Talk to Yuna for a scene to ensue between the pair. More sexual tension brewing underneath. Wakka breaks up the scene with a ball, he's so discreet.
