Recruiting Construct 8
The next three pages are all about Sidequests so if you don't want to follow this pages, fine but you are going to lose very good rewards and new characters. And the first of them is Construct 8. You can do this sidequest after you defeat Dycedarg until the end of the game but let's do it now.
To start this sidequest, go to Goug. To make this sidequest happen, you must have Mustadio, Beowulf and Reis. If you have them, a scene will start. Mustadio, Ramza and Besrudio look at one of those machine from the good ol' days of FFXII (really, those times were better), insert the Auracite that Beowulf gave us and a Robot will pop out out of that thing. This Robot is Construct 8 and he will start asking for orders. Ramza being totally clueless about it, ask the Robot to dance and he has some good moves. Then Ramza ask one of his most beloved wishes: Kill Mustadio. Contruct 8 obeys and attack but Mustadio survives, bummer.
Then Besrudio tell us about another artefact that works with another Auracite so we now have to find another Zodiac Stone. Oh, and Construct 8 wants to join us, let him join you to continue with the quest:
|Playable Character: Construct 8|
Construct 8: Is a odd character due to the fact that it is a Robot. Thanks to that I can't say anything about its personality or the lack of it, making this character box really hard to make. Uh, well, we can always make stuff up to give it some personality to the guy, uh? The little Terminator also has the weird thing to talk with big words all the time LIKE THIS, weird.
I really cannot say a lot of Construct 8 as a unit either. Sure, he has a long range, HP and great power but every time it attacks, it will lose HP and it is also immune to Magic, lowering the possibilities of healing it. But it is a great aid for your party thanks to its high power and you're going to need it in the next battle, together with Reis.
Go to Zeltennia and read the Rumor, The Cursed Isle of Nelveska to create a path to the island to the North. You should save before going because this will take you several times to pull this thing off.

Once Ramza and his party enters to the Temple, we'll meet Construct 8's insane twin brother, Construct 7, who by some reason, wants to kill us. Another fight with any sense at all.
This fight is very easy but for reasons that I'm going to explain later, it's not going to be that easy. The goal is to defeat Constrct 8 but the Robot is surrounded with several strong monsters like Hydras and Cockatrices, two of the strongest enemies of the game. The Hydras can kill any unit with "Tri-Attack" while the Cockatrices can petrify your party with "Beak". And you can't just ignore Construct 7 because it is Construct 8 but with higher HP but it has all its attacks, with its long range, everything, including that annoying immunity to Magic.
Now, why can't you just won the fight? Because in the pillars where the Hydras are, the best Shield and Spear of the game are located there, to get them, you need to bring Rapha with the "Treasure Hunter" ability. Also, bring Construct 8 and Reis so Rapha can jump on them to get to the pillars because she don't have high Jump anyway, unless you taught her "Ignore Elevation". Meanwhile, Ramza and the Thunder God will have to kill the Hydras and the Cockatrices to protect Rapha, Construct 8 can help you with that job. Once you get those Weapons, kill Construct 7, who will revive once you killed him with 1 point of HP, one attack, done.
After you defeat Construct 7, you'll get the Zodiac Stone of Cancer (my Zodiac sign) but Beowulf wants to show us something with Reis and the Stone. The Dragon enters to the Temple and with the power of the Auracite, the Dragon turns into a girl! Beowulf and Reis are lovers, actually. We now have Reis as a human in our party, let's see:
|Playable Character: Reis Duelar|
Reis Duelar: Was a far better character as a Dragon but Square decide to turn her into this character without personality in any manner. But at least she does give plot relevance to Beowulf's story and you need her for one more sidequest.
She isn't a amzaing unit, either. All of her abilities from her Special Class, Dragonkin, are just weaker version of her old Breath attacks. I strongly advice you to not use her because you have far better units in your party, anyway.
Now, in the next page, we will meet the main character of a midly overrated game of the main series.
