My birthday is soon, in four days to be specific. You better think in a nice gift for me. FFVIII will be nice.

Important notes before going to Riovanes[edit source]

This is going to be a multiple fight dungeon so be careful. The next fights are pretty hard and you're going to need to following things:

  • Ramza needs to know all the abilities of his training. ALL OF THEM.
  • Make sure your entire team is in a good level.
  • You must have the finest equipment of this point of the game.
  • As usual, create a backup file to avoid restart the game
  • SELL ALL YOUR HI-POTIONS AND POTION! THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT.

With all that done, I think we can continue.

Riovanes Castle[edit source]

We will meet Duke Barrington talking to the Knight Templars (one of them being Wiegraf). The other guy is the dude who payed some mercenaries to kill us in Chapter 2. We finally hear his name. Folmarv Tengille, Isilud's father and the leader of the Knights Templar. The Duke is suggesting an Alliance between their forces to rule all Ivalice. The only problem is Templars don't need the Duke's soldiers but they need the Templars. None of the leader can make a bargain and the Duke send Marach to take care of Ramza (like if he could defeat him).

After Marach goes to fight us, the meeting continues. Barrington is pretty confident thanks to the fact that he has tow Auracites, bad news. Meanwhile Wiegraf is send to finish the job, if you know what I mean.

Strategy[edit source]

Marach is pretty pissed because of Rapha's betrayal and he wants to make her pay for that, so you think you're better than us. Okay, it is on now!

This fight is pretty hard, which kinda shocked me since Marach was their leader. Skip Marach, focus on his team, that's the real problem. After a few turns, Rapha and Marach are going to disappear from the battlefield, that way you can skip those two crappy characters and move on this battle.

The enemy's team is one of the most basic of the entire game but also one of the most dangerous. Those Archers are incredibly strong thanks to their position, this is just as annoying as the first fight in Dorter with that Archer on the top of the mountain. Well, this work in the same way as that Archer. They will attacking you from those walls, just in case, bring a White Mage to heal yourself. You will also have to make two teams.

The Knights are very strong thanks to their Diamond Swords but two of them aren't in a good position to attack you. Be thankful for that and take advantage of that. Send Luso and Ramza in the first team to attack those Knight and Archers on the top. It's good to start invasions. Agrias can go in the second team with two strong units. My suggestions will be your Dragoon/Thief and a Black Mage with "Thundaja because Thunder-Elemental damage are more effective in water.

Samurais, Ninjas, Geomancers, all are good ideas in this fight. You need to hit hard and fast. A Time Mage can speed things up here. A very hard fight, you might get many Game Overs but you shouldn't be ashamed of that.

After Battle[edit source]

Alma has being kidnapped again by another group of kidnappers. Boy this gets more complicate everytime we won a fight. Death is coming to Riovanes, the divines wings of despair are descending. Sorry for that, I was taking a quote from Symphony X, my bad.

In the next page: One of the best moments of the entire game.
