Walkthrough:Final Fantasy IX/TH/Part 17

Weep as the wreath is laid and once in control of Vivi talk to Zidane, then the bar lady, and go to the equipment shops (left outside bar) for weapons etc then go left down the alley as you did at the start of the game. Say no to Blank if he collars you and head for the church. Buy items from Stilzkin, give Kupo the letter and SAVE, then talk to Marcus in the alley and agree to watch the show downstairs. A lot happens now for you to take in.

Once in control of Eiko go back to Doctor Tot and SAVE using the moogle. Leave, go up one screen then north, and on the landing go north and you'll bump into Baku who will deliver the letter. Strange events unfold and the game resumes.

Anyway, once in control of Zidane, heading for the castle. Go towards the equipment shops and then north through the castle gates to find Freya and Amarant about to fight. Stop them, check around the small area for two items, and ride the boat to the castle; then check at this dock on the lower level where there are another two items (one on either side). Don't miss the Lapis Lazuli add-on behind the fountain; finally you can head on inside. After a lot more talking and hilarity ensues, soon you'll end up in Treno.

Treno/ Dali

Leave the tower and during the ATE choose to go visit home. Go to Stella's house and hand over the Stellazio's for some rewards. Buy goods, weapons etc and SAVE at the moogle, go to the auction house and bid on Dark Matter, which will teach Dagger Odin!

When your ready head off to Quan's dwelling for an interesting, where you'll learn a bit about Vivi. Next head through South Gate to Dali, you can finally get the treasure chests on top of the Windmill a Cachusha and an Elixir and can now search the Mayor's house. Choose "Check around the room" and check the desk to find a Mini-Brahne. Then check the Heater for the Mayor's Key. Open the locked door, near where you found Aries Stellazio. Inside the Chocobo stable you'll find 30000 Gil and if you check the chest again you'll find Burman Coffee.

With all three coffees you can now visit Mr Morrid, who'll be happy to send you a Mini-Airship, you can find it in the Tantalus hideout in Lindblum.

Back to Treno now you can fight the monster in the cage for 15000 gil. Equip Jelly, Auto-Float if you have it and a Coral Ring if you really want to play it safe. Throw up a Hi-Potion when you need it and you should be fine.

Now head off to the Card Stadium (watch the ATE on the way for a Chimera Armlet) During this competition you MUST SAVE, the prize for winning the contest is a rare Rebirth Ring.

Eiko will now appear to tell you there's trouble in Alexandria!

Alexandria

Kuja is using Bahamut to destroy Alexandria and as ruler Dagger must try to protect the kingdom and assign her guards to specific tasks. Order them as follows:

Blutzen and Kohel - Information

Weimer and Haagan - Protect Townspeople

Breirecht and Laudo - Get Reinforcements

Dojebon and Mullenkedheim - Arm Cannons

Beatrix will give you Angel Earrings before leaving with Steiner to clear out the streets (this is a great part of the game, musics brilliant too!). Head south, battling the creatures as you do. Meanwhile, Dagger will ask her mother for help and as her pendent glows she loses consciousness. When you get control back go to the Queen's chamber but in the room before go left through the door and up the tower.

On board Hilda Guard 2 Eiko's Jewels also begin to glow and she will jump off towards Dagger on the tower. Together they summon the Holy Eidolon Alexander to protect the Kingdom but Kuja soon counters by calling on the Invincible. However, there's someone onboard the Invincible, someone who despises Kuja.... and Zidane for some as-yet-unkown reason.

Now controling Zidane, equip your characters and prefer for a tough battle, make sure everyone has Antibody equipped, then head left to the library, warn the scholars that they're under attack (you don't get any reward bu I think it's the right thing to do) look in the bottom left corner for an '!' to enter a tough Boss battle.

Average HP: 21,997

Items held: Silver Fork, Demon's Mail, Elixer

Depending on your levels this could be a very hard fight! Firstly have Freya boost your defence with Reis Wind. Your main objective is to keep attacking untill Tantarian reveals himself within the book. When the book is closed make sure to attack physically with Amarant and Freya, and have Vivi use Focus constantly. Soon when the books opens ONLY use Fira over and over again, With three characters idle as Vivi uses magic have them heal with Amarant's Chakra, Reis Wind and Potions. When the book closes begin the process again attacking physically till it opens.

What tragedy...The princess has indeed lost her voice. After all that she has gone through--the death of her mother, the destruction of her beloved kingdom...She has suffered so much pain.

When you awaken open the chest to the right for an Egoist's Armlet, SAVE and get the Elixer from the chest. Use Mognet too. Leave the room and Blank appears. Go to the lift and to the Upper Level, then left to find Garnet. She won't speak to Zidane, hurting his feelings so he leaves. Back near the lift you'll bump into Blank who tells you to see Cid, so head north

A meeting takes place in the conference room and it's decided the Regent should return to human form. Take Zidane to the guestroom (where you woke up) to check on Dagger, then when you get control go to the Mid Level and out to the Theatre District where you can enter the Artist's house, on the bottom right. Look in the upper left corner to find the Strange Potion open the chest for a Lapis Lazuli then go down the steps to where Cinna and Marcus are rebuilding the base to get an Unusual Potion. Fly to the Buisness District , SAVE at the inn, check the guestbook then head north. Inspect the church left for the Sagittarius Stellazio. Then shop for weapons and items, if you talk to the owner of the item shop and ask about the potion you can find the Beautiful Potion. Return to Regent Cid, unfortunately things don't go as expected...

If you fly back to the buisness district now you can rescue Quina, which will cost you some gil and watch a humourus scene or go straight to the docks to find the gluttonous beast there anyway, the choice is yours. I watch the scene personally...

Despite the Dagger's lack of voice and the fact that Cid is now Amphibian the team get on their new (stolen) ship and prepare to go to the Black Mage Village.

An old friend of mine

NOTE Before you do though it is wise to level up (and you really should!) head for Lanar Island on the left hand side of the World Map. Fight the Grand Dragons here and your characters (and your store of Ethers!) will grow healthfully, flee from the Gimme Cats though, you have no spare Diamonds.

One other thing head to Alexandria Dock to find another Stellazio, theres a Neptune Lift that takes you to the castle from the docks, here you can find the Leo Stellazio.
