Back to Steiner and Marcus for now then. To escape the oversized birdcage use left and right on the D-pad to swing (left when travelling left and vice versa). Once at the extreme right of the screen tap Right to crash open the cage and escape. Fight the guards and run to the ladder, climb up. Marcus will leave Steiner now, but touching down from there journey are Zidane, Vivi and Freya (convenient ^^). Once you convince Steiner that Daggers life is in danger he'll join you and a thirty minute countdown will begin (don't fret it's plenty of time).

Take a moment to equip the party and head for the castle, avoiding the pathetically slow guards where you can. Now once inside head up the carpeted stairs and left onto the landing above where you just were. Head south past the doorway and then run up the spiraling staircase to where Zidane first met Dagger. Head on through the northern double-doors and then again to enter the Queen's chambers. Pull the purple candlestick holder and a secret door will open up.

Down in the dungeon use the rotating floor to cross to the other side (you can get the chests later). Continue to the bottom and from the circular floor with a chunk missing go through the northern door to find some old friends.

Items held: Mythril Armour, Mythril Armlet

This isn't a tough battle once you know the trick to it, you just need to attack Zorn or Thorn just after the other has given them Flare or Meteorite power. I suggest you steal from Thorn as he has better items then his brother, but if times running out just go on the offensive at Thorn (he has less HP). Have Vivi target both twins with second level spells and Steiner can chop them to pieces with his sword, have Freya use Reis' Wind as usual and then use Lancer on the twins.

It shouldn't be long before they fall before the might of your reassembled party.


Zidane & Garnet

I love the music at this part

Race over to Dagger - she's alive but only barely! Pick her up and leave. SAVE at the moogle and check mognet. Run back up the dungeon, collecting the chests you missed before and go back to the Queen's Chambers. Zidane lays her on the couch and Zorn & Thorn enter with Beatrix.

Yes it's the same old battle with the same old outcome. Have Freya use Reis' Wind then leap out of harms way. Steiner can cut open her defence with Magic Sword and Vivi should heal the party and cast second level spells. Zidane can actually just attack for once! Keep your health topped up and eventually after you've dealt enough damage she'll knock you all down to one HP (AGAIN!).


After this Zidane begins to question the Palidan on her sworn duty and her first duty to the princess and seeing Garnet lying unconscious she'll relise the Queens been acting irrationally. She rushes to the girl and attempts to revive her, though Zorn and Thorn are confident in the spell they have cast. However, Beatrix succeeds and defies Queen Brahne's orders when she enters the chamber. Out comes the royal pooch, Bandersnatch!

Freya and Beatrix will hold off the dog while the others make their escape. The fight is really very simple - just have Beatrix use one of her more poweful attacks (you know, the ones she's been using on your group this whole time!).


Get Zidane and co. down to the circular floor and go south. Steiner will go back to help his fellow Knights. After the action shifts back to Zidane, run through the door up top to grab a letter from Mosh to Monty. In this familiar area you'll be caught in the same trap as before, and Zorn and Thorn will appear. But suddenly two friends will make an appearance and come to your rescue, allowing the group to escapr to Treno using the Gargant. Though once again trouble lies in the tunnel...

Items held: Phoenix Down, Oak Staff, Adaman Vest

Steal the equipment this creature has - it'll serve you well. To aide you have Vivi attack the monster physically so it curls up, then steal, and repeat when it unwraps. Don't strike it when it's protecting itself though or it'll unleash a deadly Earth based attack. Have Dagger heal when necessary and use items to heal status effects.


With the threat neutralised the Gargant can continue on it's journey towards Treno. However, it turns out the sepent wasn't quite beaten yet! There's no chance you can jump off at Treno as your going too fast so you've got no choice but to hold on tight!
