Run-through: Ipsen's Castle

A

At the entrance Amarant will leave the party whether you choose to let him or not. Equip Steiner with Flame Saber and Thunder Gloves then check Add Status in his ability. Ascend the stairs to enter the castle. Inside go to the [Small Room] and give Kumool his letter then save because you will be resetting a lot here. Afford one encounter in the castle. The treasure chests can be obtained in the last disk.

B

Slide down through the hole to reach the bottom area. Take the ladder in this room and exit the west door upwards. At the [Inverted Hall] take the other door to reach the [Stairwell]. Descend the ladder and take the next ladder then go through the door at the top. Take the lift for a scene.

C

Proceed forward and take all four mirrors from the wall. Try to leave only to trigger a boss battle. Have Steiner attack to inflict Heat on the Taharka. If successful it’s an instant death for the boss. Reset if you couldn't inflict Heat in two turns. You can also rely on Quina Limit Glove if you are having no luck with Heat.

D

After the fight return at the moogle area and save then leave the castle for a scene. Amarant is south in the area down the sliding pole. Once he is back party return at the [Entrance] for another scene.

Run-through: The Shrines

A

Before you visit the [Shrines] it’s important to have both Zidane and Quina learn Auto-Life. Equip Quina with a Green Beret and Reflect Ring. Check Ability Up in his ability. Go to [Popos Height] (above [Gizamaluke Grotto]; the forest) then save. You want to encounter a friendly Garuda on your first encounter otherwise reset.

B

Give the friendly foe a Lapis Lazuli to receive 40 AP. Before you leave enter the [Grotto] from the forest. Give Moguta a Kupo Nut to receive an Extension. If Quina is still far from learning Auto-Life then go to the small forest at [Pualei Plainis]. You can get 30 AP from friendly Nymph by giving him 3 Ores. Make sure to kill Quina against the friendly foes you have to revive him with 1 HP.

C

Equip Zidane with Auto-Reflect and Quina with Auto-Life and optimize both equipment then save. Go to the [Water Shrine] which is directly south of [Ipsen’s Castle]. Fly your airship there to drop Dagger and Eiko. Send Amarant and Freya to the [Fire Shrine] located north-east on the [Lost Continent]. South-east of [Oeilvert] is the [Wind Shrine], go there to drop Steiner and Vivi. Lastly, land your airship at the [Earth Shrine] which is situated on the eastern part of the [Outer Continent].

D

You will start at the [Entrance], go forward to the next screen. Jump at the right time otherwise you will return back and will have to do it again until you get it right. When you control Zidane at the [Interior] approach the statue and try to place your mirror.

E

Another battle base on luck. If Earth Guardian constantly target Quina you will have no choice but to reset. Use Limit Glove and have Zidane attack. With some luck you will emerge victorious eventually. After the battle re-form your party then land anywhere and save.

Run-through: Terra

A

Fly your airship to the [Shimmering Island] which is north of [Pilkiras Island]. Ask Erin to keep flying forward during the sence (skip FMV) to arrive at [Terra]. Include Dagger in your party. Afford at most three encounters in this place.

B

Exit south-east and take the west path at the next screen. Get a Coronet along the way and a Dragon Wrist at the end. Return at the [Downhill Path] and go north. Open the chest on the left for an Elixir then chase after the girl.

C

Climb down twice and open the chest at the bottom for a Remedy. Go up one lever and jump to the other side for another chest with a Mythril Racket. Choose to jump down and open the chest below for a Demon’s Vest.

D

Cross the bridge. After the first stairs go west into the hidden path and make a clockwise turn to reach a chest with a Minerva’s Plate. Optimize Dagger and equip her with a Mythril Racket and Feather Boots. Check Auto-Float in her ability. Climb the stairs for a scene and skip the FMV.
