Core of all hatred
You can just feel the intensity as we arrive it the Lunar Core, a few things i must warn you of, the monsters here all serve as mini bosses, you will notice when you encounter them and the boss theme plays. What you want to do is have Edge use smoke, it's the only way to escape but if you plan on fighting them then i will indulge you with some knowledge, first of we have Behemoths, Red Dragons and Blue Dragons, by now you should know how to kill these guys so wont bother repeating myself but what is new here is Evil Mask, god i hate these guys, they cast wall on each other or themselves and bounce spells like Holy of them plus they will cast wall on your entire party so you can't cure yourself, what you want to do is have Rosa cast Holy on the party so it bounces off and hits them, have Rydia do the same with Flare or have her summon Bahamut, Kain should jump, Cecil should attack and Edge should throw.
Ok so head right and down the stairs then go left and open the chest in the top left corner, inside is a Fuma, now go south down the stairs and right then south again to where the final ultimate weapon is floating, make sure your all healed up before clicking on it because the last optional boss is a massive jerk.

BOSS BATTLE: Ogopogo Level= 62 HP= 50,000 MP= 3,125 Abilities= Big Wave, Weak, Blaze Location= Lunar Core EXP= 700 Weak Against= Nothing Difficulty- Medium Strategy- Ogopogo is quite a cheater, he will start the battle off by using Big Wave twice in a row, i would not be surprised if one of your party members are dead, make sure Rosa revives anyone who dies and always have her casting Cure 4, Cecil should attack, Kain should be using Jump, Rydia should summon Bahamut and Edge should throw items. Ogopogo will counter magic with his move Weak which is Tornado and will bring one party member close to death and he counters summons with Blaze which takes of a few hundred HP of the party, his physical attacks can hurt for it does around a thousand damage and he sometimes uses Big Wave after a few turns so just give it your all. |
When Ogopogo dies we get Edge's ultimate weapon, Masamune. Remove the Kikuichi and equip it then return to the save point in the Lunar Subterrane, recover with a Cabin, save and proceed back to the Lunar Core.
Time for some final level grinding, because the Final Boss is so damn hard that i would consider it to be a super boss for this version of FFIV we need to get are party to level 60 and Cecil needs to be 70. Ok so the best way to do this is to train in the Core and im not gonna lie, it will be dangerous, if it's too hard then take your time training against the monsters in the Subterrane levels. Once you have managed to power up your party you will need to re trace your steps back to the spot leading to Ogopogo take the right turn and go north and left then down into the stairs that descend into the second section of the Core. Go south down the stairs then right and up to get that chest, inside is a Elixir, now go south down the stairs and head west and descend those stairs as well then go east while grabbing the Whistle from the chest along the way, step on the teleporter to be taken to the next section.
From here we will go west and down the little stairs then east down those other little stairs, take a quick right turn and get the Fuma from the chest then go west and open the other chest, inside is another Fuma now go south east down the teleporter. This is the final section from here on we will encounter Mind and Breath, these are powerful manifestations that Zemus has conjured up, first of Mind is the annoying one, it will cast Charm on three of your party members plus once it is hit it will cast Armour on itself or it will cast Shell, physical attacks barely hurt it because it's defense is through the roof so don't even bother, if you tend to kill it have Rosa cast Holy and have Rydia cast Flare or summon Bahamut, now as for Breath this is a diffrent story, all Breath will do is cast Scan and say that he is reporting our weakness to Master Zemus, if anything this is a scare tactic, it does nothing so just pummel the guy and watch out for Break which works like Hold.
Now zig zag down and around until we reach a teleporter, step on it and watch as FuSoYa and Golbez do battle with Zemus. Golbez and FuSoYa throw everything they have but their spells are still too weak to hurt the corrupt Lunarian and so they cast twin Meteo which destroys Zemus. With Zemus dead it would seem the party can celebrate, wait no something else has emerged, ok it seems through death Zemus's hatred had made his spirt linger on and transform into Zeromus, the epitome of hatred and darkness, his dark powers leaves us succumbed to his might and we fall one by one like insects but luckly our friends back on Earth begin to pray and everyone send's their power to us, even the spirt of Tellah, Golbez hands Cecil the crystal because only light can over come darkness, we witness Cecil stand against the inhumane monster and we shall use the crystal so that Zeromus can take on his true form prepare for the final boss battle with Zeromus.

BOSS BATTLE: Zeromus Level= 96 HP= 65,498 MP= 4,093 Abilities= Big Bang, Flare, Meteo, Black Hole, Bio Location= Lunar Core EXP= 0 Weak Against= Nothing Difficulty- Hard Strategy- Here it is, the final battle, the fate of Earth lies in the balance and it's up to us to stop Zeromus. First off before using the crystal that Golbez gave to Cecil i suggest parrying and have Rosa buff up the party with Shell and Haste then once you use the crystal be on stand by for his true form. Straight have Rydia summon Bahamut, Kain constantly jumping, Edge should be throwing, Cecil attacking and Rosa healing. Zeromus's absolutely adores using Big Bang which hits the entire party and does massive amount of damage which makes other Final Bosses's signature moves look like a pea shooter, now you will know he is setting up for Big Bang because his body will shake one turn before he uses it. He also casts Black Whole which nullifies all status alignments so that means your buffs are futile now and he will cast Bio or Flare from time to time on one party member per turn. Eventually when his HP starts to drop significantly he will then resort to Meteo which is quite weak in terms of Big Bang and is no threat, cross your fingers and pray you over come this monster. |
Ending
With Zeromus's last haunting words we witness the corrupt Lunarian finally die and FuSoYa saying his farewells, Golbez wishes to accompany FuSoYa due to the destruction he had caused on Earth, the party say their good byes and the full Mysidian prophecy plays on the screen.
We witness the Lunar Whale return to it's sleep, Palom & Porom continue their studies under the Elder's influence, (by the way that girl Palom was speaking to is from the After Years), Edge ascends to the throne of Eblan and keeps doing what he does best and thats chasing skirts but in the end of the day he can't stop thinking about Rydia. Rydia now lives in the land of summons and helps bridge a healthier relationship between humans and summons, Yang is now the King of Fabul and the former king becomes his advisor and of course Yang's wife is now the Queen, Edward begins rebuilding his kingdom and same applies with Giott, they scrap all their weapons, armour and tanks to use as steel so the castle walls will be repaired and Kain will be seen on top of Mt Ordeals without his helmet, here he will train to surpass his father and return as a worthy dragoon to Baron.
Now we witness the Lunarian Moon leave the Earth's orbit, Golbez will send a telepathic message saying his farewells to Cecil, Cid comes busting in having to take Rosa so she can get ready for the wedding ceremony. Everyone gives their blessings to Cecil and Rosa who are now the new King and Queen of Baron, after thats over we can watch the full cgi of the intro which shows us some pretty cool moments in the game.]
