And it's not over.
Chapter 7, third part (and short part) : The women are happy[]
Go to Troia, sell all this non-magnetic items you have (won't need them anymore) and buy a lot of healing items, because Tellah won't handle alone in next dungeon. But if you're lucky of course.
Now, go to the castle and go to the Epopts room. Walk in the room to start a cutscene. Kain wants you to go to the airship now, but wait a little. Talk to the priestresses and then go to the eastern part of the castle. Remember the old prison ? You can get in there now. Talk to the guard, say you got allowed, go in the secret passage, go up, right, down and left and you come in a huge room full of treasure ! Yummy. So there's : 2 Hi-Potion, 2 Remedies, 2 Ethers, 2 Dry Ether, 1 Elixir, 1 Silver Apple (keep it for Rosa), 2 Echo Grass, a Greatbow, Ice arrows, Fire arrows, 50 000 gils (!!!), 5 000 gils and Lightning arrows. Now go see Eddy in the Western part of the castle. He still doesn't join, but give you Augments. Basically it's Bardsong, and if you gave Augments to him (I hope you haven't), there's his Hide and the other thing. All that is useless, anyway.
Go in your ship, now. Kain comes and takes the Crystal. He offers to lead you to the tower of Zot, but actually that's a cheap trick : she's at the top, and you're at the bottom. And here we are for another dungeon with only Tellah as a Mage !
Tower of Zot[]
Some monsters in here are quite strong. Ice Lizard and Flamehound have powerful Breath attack that hit everyone for a lot. If you meet one of these, you may want to run. You can still try one. It'll also be easier when you get an armor that reduces Ice for Cecil. A lot of enemies are weak to Fire, and that's good, you'll get a Fire sword for Cecil. Just be aware of the turle-ish monster, which absorbs Fire and is weak to Ice. The Fire rod and Ice rod for Tellah are good right now.
Well, 1F. First thing, go left. This is the exit. Now you know it, let's go. Go Northeast to find a Flame Mail, reducing Ice damage. Pretty useful against ice lizards. Go East, then south to come back to your start. Then go east and north and you should have completed the map. You get 5 Zeus' Wrath for that. Go to 2F.
Go West, then South. Go right to fill the map in the dead end, then continue south, then west. There's a chest on the way. Equip Yang's Ice Claw before opening it : there's a good thing and a monster inside. The Flamehound... Just Berserk him or you're dead. His Scorch might one hit Cid. Will one hit Cid. Don't revive him unless you're sure of yourself. Berserk him with Tellah, immediately. Once berserked, he's strong, but beatable. Just attack him. Blizzaga if you feel like. You get a Fire sword then. Equip it on Cecil, and equip again the fire claw for Yang. And heal yourself, you'll probably need it now. You might leave the tower and save too. Go North and follow the right path at the fork to complete the map and get 3 Heavenly Wrath. And go to 3F.
3F is actually a big maze, but all ways go to the exit. There's no item in here, but you'll have to go everywhere to complete the map. Yup, it's the life. You get a Blue Fang for that. Good reward, isn't it ?
4F now. Follow the way to the forke, and go North there. You see a crossing of 4 roads... And you'll have to go through every single of them. Go West first. It leads you to a part of 5F. Follow the way to receive a hammer for Cid (Gaia Hammer) in the chest, equip it and go back to the crossing. Now go North. Back to 5F, pick the Hell Claw and don't equip it (I like Confusion better than Poison), and follow the way to get a Fire Shield. Give it to Cid to protect him against Ice, Cecil has already that protection from the armor we picked previously. Go back to the crossing and go East. Back in 5F again, follow the path to get another Sage Surplice (or you first one if you forgot to bring Rosa's away). Now you're done with all this crossing thing, get back to 4F and follow the main path. You get an elixir for completing this map.
You are again in 5F, and a lot of the map has been discovered. There's a door on your way, go there and save/Tent/cottage... You get three Bronze Hourglass for completing the map. Go to the door... There's a boss fight awaiting !
BOSS : Magus Sisters (Cindy, Sandy, Mindy) |
HP : about 9300 (Cindy), 5500 (the two other) |
Weakness : - - Absorbs : - |
Exp : 59548 |
Strategy : So there are three of them. Their "Delta" attack actually consists in Sandy using Reflect on Cindy and Mindy using a powerful magic on Cindy. Or something like that. Anyway, it means you should use Shell and Protect, and be ready to heal at any moment. Cindy revives the two other if they fall, so have the three melee guys hit her while Tellah and sometimes Cecil heal. Watch out : Sandy uses Reflect even if Cindy already has it, so you might have some of your characters under that status. Haste can be a plus, but again, hope it won't be reflected on an enemy. This battle depends on who gets hit by the spell, and covering Tellah with Cecil can be useful. Sandy announces when she starts the Delta-thing, so you have little time to get ready to face it. For instance by having one of you character preparing a phoenix down, hee hee hee. Mindy counter physical attacks, too. Watch out, it could make a character weak enough to be killed by Delta.
When you kill Cindy, the other aree easy to defeat : simply blast them off, Mindy first. You can also Osmose them if Tellah need MP, and you can Osmose Yang, too. |
Character lost: Tellah | Characters joining : Rosa and Kain |
You might want to go back at the Save Point nearby, Tent and Save. Now, unequip Tellah with all he has, and go into the next room. You'll have a long sequence with Tellah attacking Golbez, casting his normal useless spells then Meteor. As the twins had said, it kills Tellah. But it doesn't kill Golbez, just hurts him a little. The badass villain then tries to attack Cecil, but holds his hand, and we don't now why... Meteor breaks Golbez's mind control on Kain.
Take the Recall Augment Ability on the ground. It's as useless as it was on Tellah, but still, it's an Augment. Speak to Kain. You save Rosa and get the two in you party after a touching scene, well sort of. He's level 32 and she's level 26. Check their equipment if there's anything better to give them (the Gold Hairpin and a Silver Armlet on Rosa is a must, and a Bow of course, and the Flame Shield to Kain instead of Cid), leave them in the back row for now. Give Cry to Kain and Doublecast and Twincast to Rosa. Also, give Cid the Mithril Hammer, because Gaia Hammer hits with Earth damage and next boss is resilient to that. Same way, give Kain a Mithril Sword. Then move a little south for another Boss Fight. Whoo-hoo...
BOSS : Barbariccia |
HP : 12272 |
Weakness : - - Absorbs : - - Resists : Earth, Wind |
Exp : 61855 |
Strategy : One thing to now about this fight : what Barbariccia does better is counter. She counters physical attacks with Lightning, which hurts everyone a lot. She counter magic with Maelstrom, which reduces everyone's HP to a single digit. So don't attack with magic. And attack carefully with physical attacks. Kain should Cry immediately and then Jump over and over again : the boss can transform into a tornado where she can only be touched by a jumping Kain, which also turns her back to her normal form. A Spider Silk can be useful (slow makes her counter with Maelstrom, so avoid). Have Cecil cover Rosa, as she is truly weak for now. And Yang should triple Focus then attack. Rosa being able to Doublecast will help. Heal with Rosa and Cecil, triple Focused attacks with Yang, Jump with Kain and do nothing with Cid and this should be easy. |
Now Barbariccia tries to make the tower collapse while you're in here. Fortunately you have a powerful Mage now and she uses Teleport to get you out.
Chapter 8 : Eblan Castle[]
You're in Cecil's room in Baron. Really, that's all Rosa could think about when the world's in danger... funny. Kain tells you about the four other crystals Golbez hasn't retrieved yet. These Dark Crystals are in the Underworld, and fortunately Kain has the key to there : some magmatic rock. Golbez apparently wants to go to the moon thanks to the Crystals. But Kain doesn't know where to use his "key". Luckily, the Enterprise has followed you somehow. You automatically sleep in his room, then you may go.
You could already go there earlier, but you didn't have the level, so now, let's go to Eblan Castle. But first, go to Mithril if you still need some equipment. Don't buy anything for Cid, by the way. Now head to the most southwestern of the world to go to Eblan Castle.
This place is kinda... empty. Actually Golbez destroyed the ninja of Eblan so they can't fight him, but you'll learn about that later. There are three places you can visit : West tower, East tower and the main building, where you'll go first. In 1F, you can enter the room to the right by a hidden door in the wall (kinda easy to find). You get a Hi-Potion in the chest. Now go to 3F directly. Behind the throne is a Ninja Sutra (strangely in French it's called "Edge's Magazine"...), which is just a useless item. Try it if you want to, it doesn't hurt. To the right and the left of the throne are hidden paths that'll lead to stairs to 2F in the rooms where all the chests are. Get a Golden Needle, a Cottage, a Maiden Kiss in the room to the right and a Unicorn Horn and an Alarm Clock in the room to the left. Now go to West Tower.
To the right of the entrance is a hidden path, go through it and go East, North and West to see a chest. There's a Sleep Sword init, guarded by 2 Skuldiers and a Steel Golem made of rock. The two skeletons uses Thundaga on everyone repeatedly : kill them quickly with Cecil and Yang's Fire weapons. The Golem is weak to Ice. The sword is useless, you'll sell it asap. Go to 2F now, the other chest will be available later. In the southeastern corner of the room you can enter a hidden way leading to two chests : Silencing arrows (equip them) and 10 000gils. In the Southeastern corner is a secret stairway leading to the chest in 1F : Bomb Core. And go to East tower now.
To the left of the stairs leading to 2F in there is a secret path leading to a chest holding Coeurl Whisker. Go to 2F now. On your right is a yellow button on the wall, activate it and go through the door to the left you opened. Pick 2 Hi-Potions, an Emergency Exit in the three first chests, then go in the northeastern corner of the room and go east to find a secret way that leads you to the other chest. There's a Blood Lance in it, but guarded by enemies : a Lamia and two Coeurls. You may want to try the Blood Lance, or not, as you wish. Now fall in the hole in this room. You get in 1F. To get to the chest in front of you is delicate : you must stick to the wall to the right (maybe it works on the left too) and walk straight up to go around the hole. You get a Silver Hourglass. Jump into the hole again to go down to B1. Follow the path to see three chests. To the right is a silver apple, with a monster too. You are confronted to 3 Mad Ogres. Protect and use Slow on everyone to be able to stay alive and kill them fast. Give thge apple to Rosa, and you should have another one for her, too. The two other chests hols an Ether each. Now leave by the exit at the end of the way to come back to World Map. Good, there was nothing left to do in here.
Chapter 8, second part : The Underworld[]
Go to the closest island to the East from Eblan Castle. You see a little township, it's Agart. Go in there. This is a useless place, but anyway, we have to come here. The shops aren't worth to go there, just go to the Item Shop to refill your stocks. Behind a bush to the west of the well in the center of the village, you find a Phoenix Down, and there's a Potion in a smaller bush right north from here. Go up the stairs near the lake and follow the way West then South to find a hidden Hi-Potion. Now go to the house northwest from the inn (which is cheap, only interest of this town later). Before that house in a bush is an Antarctic Wind. Now talk to Cheatingway in front of the house. He becomse Puddingway and wants to offer a Rainbow Flan to his girlfriend. They can be dropped by any Flan enemy. It's ridiculously hard to find one, but if you can, give it to him. As I'm not ridiculously crazy, I won't search for this. So if I find it, I'll continue Namingway's quest in the walkthrough. Either, you'll have to do the rest alone.
Now go to the well in the center of the village, and use the magma rock on it. Clumsy Cid throws the rock in the well, but, lucky guy, it works ! A big hole opens in the ground near Agart, and you have now access to the Underworld. Get in the Enterprise, fly over the hole, and press B to enter the Underworld.
Cid automatically pilots the Enterprise in the Underworld until you see the Red Wings. They are fighting strange Tanks. Cid, stupid as he is, flies in the middle of the battle and we get hit. The Enterprise crash... This time everyone's fine. The Enterprise can't fly anymore, dumb Cid. Enter the castle near here, to Southwest.
What is going to happen to us ???????????? See in next part !
