Fynn's Freedom[]

Palamecia's Tournament[]

At Altair, save and train outside a bit. You should have some nice stats after those two runs on the Deist Cavern. Stock up on items, as you must've used a lot of them inside Deist Cavern and Mysidia. Try to get 99 Potions. I sure did. When you're ready, talk to Gordon and he'll tell you that Hilda's behaving strangely. Make sure you're at you full health before going to her room (which is below the fallen king's one). Talk to her and she'll ask the party to leave her alone with Firion. She'll take him to her bed and...GODDAMN! THAT'S HILDA?! Leila will barge in just in time to save Firion - Boss battle.

FFII Lamia Queen psp

Lamia Queen

HP- 1290

MP- 370

Difficulty- Medium/Hard

Strategy- Jesus! This thing was going to eat Firion! (Literally and Figuratively) She's tough as hell and the music shows it. Charm is the most dangerous weapon on her arsenal and Blind is in the most powerful form of it. Her normal attack may induce Sleep, but luckily, your Silence spell is at a nice level, and good Basuna and Esuna are a must to counter all these nasty effects. You can try to hit her with that, but if you can't, don't worry about it. Cast a wave of defensive and supportive spells on your party and hack at Lamia. If you can't seem to beat her, level up your restorative spells.

After you beat that horrible nasty fiend, the party will question about where is the real princess, and a knight will come in and warn that a tournament is being held in Palamecia, and the prize is Princess Hilda. Gordon will grow balls and he'll tell you that he'll join the party once more to rescue her. He'll be back with any equipment you left him with so this is your last chance to remove anything you left him with. If he has nothing equipped, get him Mythril gear or such and rest at the Inn. Now head to Poft and train there if you want to, as Palamecia's desert holds some nasty stuff. If you want to get Gordon's ultimate weapon, this is your real final chance! Otherwise, rent Cid's airship to go to Kashuan and get a Chocobo there. Go through the desert and when you see a castle in a range of mountains, get near it. You will see a small structure near the Mountain range. That is the Colosseum.

Enter and go straight forward until the gates close. You will gaze at the Emperor for the first time on the playthrough. He will wish you a good fight and then he'll order the guards to set loose the beast... GOD HE'S BIG!

FFII Behemoth psp

Behemoth

HP- 1290

MP- 370

Difficulty- Medium/Hard

Strategy- Whoa...Two bosses in 10 minutes...this looks like Soul Shrine from FFVI. Anyway, this guy is no pushover! His attack and defense stat are big so cast Protect, Blink and Berserk and hit him will all you've got. Heal constantly and don't worry about Gordon. Magic is not effective unless it's high-leveled.

After defeating this guy, the Emperor will ask you to collect the reward. Too late to find that this was all a trap and that the Emperor's guards grab you and throw you into the slammer.

On the cell, examine the door and Paul will come to your rescue. You'll be on a new dungeon, and you must find Hilda. Unfortunately, this place has Chimera as a random encounter ('O.o), those are the place's biggest threat. There are also WIZARDS in here, and with them, there is the chance of getting a really cool Osmose scroll! Try to find as many as you can, as this Tome can only be found by defeating them and once you get past the [Spoilers] Cyclone [Finished], it's bye-bye Osmose tomes.

If you go east from the cell, you'll find a chest with an Antidote and a pack of beasts (not good if you found a bunch of Chimeras before), so pass it. If you go north from the cell you'll find a pair of rooms. Do not enter them, instead go to the right until you see the last door. Enter and you find an Ether, a Cottage and an Elixir. Now leave the room and head to the northeast corner of the floor, you'll find a small room. Enter to get to the stairs leading up.

Now on F1, there are some adorable Revenants (>>). Go east and you can see that below you are a lot of cells. On of these holds Hilda. When you finish the outer path, you'll find a small entrance, so enter it and go to Hilda's cell. Remove everything from Gordon before opening Hilda's cell! He will escort Hilda to outside the Colloseum. You can now leave with either a teleport spell or walking out, as there's not much more to see inside.

Use a Cottage and be ready for a fight. Palamecia's desert holds some nasty beasts. You can now get to Altair in three different ways, and I'll count them from the easiest and longest, to the fastest and hardest:

  • Go North from Palameica, get to Kashuan's Chocobo Forest and take it to Poft, where you can ride the ferry and get to Paloon. From there, go to Altair.
  • Go south from Palamecia and get to Altair through Fynn and Gatrea.
  • Go east from Palamecia and pass through Mysidia and approach Altair from the South.

I recommend the first, as the chances of getting killed are the smallest. Get to Altair and you'll only find a knight at the entrance. Rest and shop, then talk to him. I recommend that your party has at least some 900-1000 Hp at this moment.

Conquering Fynn[]

Go north until you find an encampment near Gatrea. Enter and you'll find Hilda and Gordon. You can ask Hilda about the Wild Rose and she'll confirm she is the real princess. Go to Castle Fynn and enter it. You can try to defeat an Imperial soldier at Fynn before going on, just to check out if you're in shape.

Point of no return

At Castle Fynn, you'll notice that there's a war going on. And god, I love it! There are a lot of nice treasures inside, so make sure you get them all! The enemies are also nice, and the mages drop some nice scrolls. Talk to Leila at the Entrance and she'll join the party again. In F1 grab the 1000 Gil that lie in the western path and the 3000 Gil that are on the eastern path. Now go through the stairs in the middle of the floor.

F2 is also basic. To the west, you have an Aura Tome defended by Sorcerers and Sergeants (Luckily, the mages will drop more scrolls), which is a spell as important as Berserk, and to the east, you have a simple potion that is defended by Revenants, Ghasts and a rat. Not worthy. Go up one floor.

F3 is straight forward, and F4 is where the boss lies. If you wish to fight some more (and maybe level up Aura a bit), you can go back to F1 and go through the stairs on the southwest corner which leads to some treasure on F3's northeast corner: a Break Tome, a Toad Tome and a Death Tome. In F4, go straight forward until you see the throne and save. Boss battle time.

FFII Ghotos psp

Gottos

HP- 2000

MP- 70

Difficulty- Easy\Medium

Strategy- And a boss battle it is. Three on a page. My, this is a new record for me! Anyways, this guy is easy. He'll spend some time powering himself up, so do it too. Cast Aura, Berserk, Protect and Blink, then hack at him with all you've got. Don't worry about spending magic on him unless it's high-leveled. After a while, he's gone, and Fynn is a kingdom again!

After Hilda and Gordon are all set, speak to Hilda and she'll ponder about Minwu, and she'll ask you to go to Mysidia. Learn that word and ask her about it. She'll say that the Ultimate spell resides on the Mysidian Tower, and obtaining it requires two Masks. Ask her about the masks once again and she'll tell you that one of them is under Fynn castle, bound under the secret words Ekmet Teloess. But Hilda doesn't know anything about these words. Ask Gordon about Mysidia and he'll talk about Ultima Tome. Get out of the castle and go to Fynn (town).
