Now a little more sidequesting and we can get back to the story. Hopefully you finish all the mission from the Captain, because we need to talk to him to get the next component to Aerith’s cart. Go to Loveless ave to get Craftsman Monthly key item. Go to the briefing room up on the SOLDIER floor and talk to the SOLDIER 3rd class Lv. 7 for Premium Tires. Now go to Aerith’s Church and Tseng will pop out and tell Zack that Aerith isn’t there and he has to go on a mission. Dimmit Tseng, are you always going to be waiting around the corner cock-blocking Zack and giving him menial tasks so you continue to stalk Aerith? And by the way that’s my job. Giggady.
The screen goes black and there are crashing noises and we then find ourselves stranded on top of a very cold mountain with no provisions or any equipment to get off it. But fortunately our mission location is very close to this spot so let’s continue on foot. Random thought: Does anyone know how the hell did they crash? Tseng got up like this happens every time he gets on a helicopter. Come on Square can we please find a better way to conveniently side track our hero from the main mission. Anyway let’s continue the walkthrough.
There isn’t any side routes so just follow the path to the next area and into the next scene. Zack and the infantryman talk for awhile and he takes off his helmet to reveal Cloud! The future nutcase and protagonist of FFVII. They continue to talk and Zack develops another male crush and adds Cloud to the DMW. His limit is attacks all enemies on screen with a small meteor shower. Continue to activate another scene with Tseng ordering Zack to investigate the Clone infected Mako Reactor. Go down the hill, save your game, and get ready for a annoying Final Fantasy patented mini-game.
Walk up to the gate and begin the game. Ignore the explanation, because you have your useful walkthrough writer and I’m going to hold your hand through this. To start wait behind the wall and wait for the guard to pass by then run left behind him for a Power Attack materia. Now go left pass the guard, stay close to the left wall, and at the end of the path is a Stop materia. Now look behind you and wait for the guard that you passed to stand at the entrance and another guard will come around the corner your way. Stay on the other wall away from the guard and make left at the guard at the entrance. Get the Death materia then continue and on the right side of the ramp is a pair of Sprint Shoes. Go up the ramp and on the left is a Pearl Necklace. Go into the entrance of the Reactor to get out of this crappy game. Whew! You now that was the first time that I even passed that game. I didn’t even now there was a Stop spell in the game until the other day.
Now if your up for a little detour head left all the way down to get a X-potion. Not the best detour item, but like I said earlier I’m a sucker for treasure big or small. And women. And pie…. I like pie. Head back to the entrance and go the other way and down to the save point and elevator. Now we appear at the lower floor with Genesis holding his sword at Hollander’s throat. Do it Genesis! End his fatass life now! But wait isn’t he suppose to be the only one who can heal Genesis? Zack gets into the middle of the fight and Cloud tries to capture Hollander, but fails miserably. Come on Cloud we know your not SOLDIER material, but your at least a low class army grunt that has basic combat training and should be able to handle a overweight middle age man who looks like he lives in his mother’s basement and reads Hentai comics all day. Now they are talking about Jonova cells and other crap. Hey looks like a boss battle you know what that means!

What the hell Genesis?! Your suppose to be this super powerful genetic super soldier and I beat you in under two minutes! TWO MINUTES! I can’t even walkthrough this. I’m leaving it to the wiki. "Start the fight with casting Regen and Barrier on Zack. Cast Graviga to deplete half of Genesis' HP, then continue with swords attack or Firaga. Be careful with Genesis' special attack, Black Flurry; it will inflict moderate damage and Curse status. Be sure to use Remedy if Zack is not equipped with any accessories that will guard him from the status effect. Nevertheless, with high ATK and VIT stats, this foe can be defeated quite easily." | |
Man even in death’s grip this guy has a LOVELESS quote. Genesis stands up on the railing, threatens to destroy the world, and commits suicide by throwing himself over. How in the hell can he destroy the world when he’s dead? Then again with all my experience of comics and video games I’ve learned two lessons: Never believe the bad guy is dead until you see the body and don’t try to be a modern day Batman when you don’t have the money or the training. Now for some odd reason Zack gets emotional about Genesis’s “death” adds him to the DMW. From this point on Genesis will randomly appear when the DMW activates and his limit is a powerful magic circle that does high damage to all enemies.
Zack is now back on the surface and notices that the path to their mission location is open so instead of calling HQ and telling them that he has taken down public enemy numero uno and postponing the original mission he decides to continue to the next area.

Save the game and head forward to the clearing then go left for 3,000 gil. Go back to the clearing and go left up the porch for a MP up. Go down the hill and next to the entrance of the bathhouse is a Blizzara. Enter the building and go right for a Hi-potion. Go down the ramp, go right, and examine the phone on the wall. Listen to all 23 messages then cross the room and examine the trunk for a Power Wrist. Opposite of the trunk is a Ether. Go back towards the entrance then hang a right. Along the way look left in the rubble and grab the Boiler Handle on the ground. Continue down the hall to the spring. Fight the griffin and right behind you is a Ether. Climb the stairs to see Cloud and Tseng unconscious on the ground. Go into the next room and go down the stairs and make a right. Under the next set of stairs is a Force Bracelet. Climb up the stairs and examine the machine and insert the boiler handle. Go back down the stairs and go to the three giant boilers and examine the middle one for a Lightning Armlet. Go back to the bathhouse and walk into the water and on the other side of the fountain is a Dispel materia. Now go back to the boiler room and go through the hole in the wall. Save your game, equip something to absorb lightning, and head up to a long cutscene and boss battle.
Hey Ang what is up man! It’s been like three pages since we’ve seen you dude. Angeal attacks Zack again, but Zack still won’t fight back. Isn’t this the third time he tried to kill us? If my mentor tried to kill me I would be fighting back at least. Hollander comes out and for some odd reason tells Zack that Ang’s mom wasn’t killed by Angeal, but had found a way to lift the Buster Sword and take her own life. Hollander then goes on how Genesis was a test-tube baby and that is the reason he is degrading, while Angeal however was conceived inside Gillian and therefore his body was able to adapt to the Jenova cells making Ang the perfect “monster”. Can someone please tell me how wings and having the ability to be genetically copied make a person a monster? I would love to be genetically copied. Imagine a world full of Uzukis. (Sigh) That would be so freakin’ awesome. Back to the story Angeal agrees with Hollander and decides that it’s time to die for being a monster(?). Don’t worry we’re not going to fight Angeal in human form. Ang Summons all the monsters that were copied from him and begins a giant fusion orgy party that leads into the next Boss fight. FUUUUU. SION. HA!

HP: 27,800 Steal: Bronze Armlet Difficulty:Medium Great another pushover. The only reason he even has medium labeled on there is because his attacks can do heavy damage. But if you put on barrier at the start his physical attacks will be halved and if you put on the Lightning Armlet you just got then his lightning attacks aren’t going to do anything. Just try not to die that’s a long cutscene you have to go through.

After the fight Angeal is somehow back to normal and slowly degrading. This is the last time we’re going to see him (Thank god) and says his final farewells by giving Zack the Buster Sword. Woo-whoo! We finally get the Buster Sword and the cover art on the case is finally fulfilled.
Well it would seem like another chapter has been closed and conveniently it’s time to start a new page. We shall continue our journey as soon as you turn the page or as we say in Soviet Union “You no turn page, page turn You!”.
